loved this dvd player, lasted for 2 years before it stopped working, well worth the money i paid for it.,

I'm not great at 'setting things up', but this was a cinch! It's more likely common sense actually.The picture is excellent, clear and sharpThe remote control however looks like something out of Star Trek! Maybe it's programmable to your other remote controls, but for me, the buttons are just too small. You also need to be very precise when using the remote control. It's rathersensitive ... it needs to be right in front of the player in order to work.Apart from that, it's a good little player especially for such a reasonable price.

I've only had this DVD player for a week and I'm very impressed with its performance. It renders my DVD collection really well. Colours look accurate and the overall image quality is very pleasing. It has most of the connectivity I need at the rear, including HDMI. It is essentially a plug and play device. The included remote control adds to the value factor. This is a lot of kit for the money. Very happy! I'll be sure to update this review if anything goes wrong.

The remote control only works if you’re less than a metre away from the DVD player. Almost all the normal functions on the remote do not work. Pressing MENU, you’ll see ‘Invalid’ on the screen. If you press PLAY you have a 50% chance of it playing and 50% chance of ‘Invalid’ showing on the screen.Connectivity is good. Functionality is very poor.If I could give zero stars I would have. Unfortunately, I have to give 1 star minimum.Avoid this product like the plague. If you do buy this, you can expect to have difficulties.

It plays, setup is ok, but have had to switch off OSD text for most DVD's. When you look at the menu structure, its very basic. When scrolling thru the languages for the DVD have had it freeze a couple of times, but a power off / on resets it.

Very compact and sits under the TV screen, easy to set up and use. Only minor issue is with the remote control which is not usable from a distance but getting up to use it is not a bad thing

This DVD player was bought to replace a similar model by a different manufacturer which gave up after about 8 months. The player is quite light and compact, so light that it tends to slide around if the controls are operated manually rather than by the supplied remote controller. This remote barely qualifies as a remote however as the handset needs to be no further than 2m from the player to successfully transmit commands - definitely not suitable for couch potatoes! The player itself is very acceptable giving good picture quality with lots of additional features. Good buy at a competitive price.

this was marketed as a simple easy to use dvd player for the elderly but it is high tech, you can use usb and has other input features. so not as easy to run if you are tech illiterate but a great dvd player for the money.

Good to use for karaoke L/R mono channel available and support more than 1TB in USB slot for thumb drive or portable HDD.

Thirteen months after I bought this, the door wouldn't stop opening and closing. So DVDs would not read or load. I reached out to the manufacturer with Amazon's help and Colin at Electcom emailed me and ended up sending me a replacement unit. It was very nice to know that they honored the warranty. Most DVD manufacturers have a very short warranty but Electcom has a long warranty period. I liked the DVD player, it worked great, up until the problem with the door opening and closing. The replacement unit is working fine.

This is a very good unit from what seems to be a very reliable supplier. The picture is excellent although the sound, when using the separate connectors, is hollow and not pleasing. The sound is excellent using only the HDMI connection. It also plays region 2 DVDs without issue and identifies them automatically.The flaws:THE REMOTE: is hard to use, the labeling of the buttons is hard to see and do not have the standard markings for play, pause, slow and fast rewind, etc. The buttons are also small and the layout in not intuitive so you frequently hit the wrong button. The remote NEEDS redesign.SEPARATE SOUND CONNECTION: the instructions for using it were inadequate and unclear about what it would do so my initial hook up used it. The sound from well known DVDs was hollow and voices did not sound like the performers we were accustomed to hearing. After performing well for several days our TV began to have incidents of extreme flashing that would last from a few seconds to perhaps a minute. Finally, when a situation developed where the incidents of flashing were happening only minute apart I had to take some time to trace the cause. I solved the problem when I disconnected the separate sound connection. It has now been weeks of use without a recurrence of the problem.This is a very good unit with excellent features for the price that I recommend highly - if you can tolerate the remote.
