This ice pack is great! It doesn’t freeze solid so it allows you to wrap it around the injury if needed. The soft side is nice if you are putting it on bare skin and the other side is nice if you have clothing on. It does not cause precipitation when applied and the coolness lasts. I use the bag that came with it religiously when it’s in the freezer. I have also put other packs I have in plastic bags with small holes at the bottom to keep condensation from forming when the bags are warm and put in the freezer. I also like the strap to secure in place if necessary. My husband has used it for his hip when he had surgery and it works great. Size is perfect for a man’s upper thigh hip. It’s not too heavy either so it doesn’t put too much weight on leg.

I had a total hip replacement back in June and the recovery process went smoothly because I had this ice pack to help with the pain and swelling. Worked like a charm. Keeping it for my total knee replacements next. Was very comfortable to wear. Was not rigid but molded nicely around my hip. The fabric material was nice to have next to my skin and didn't require a towel between me and the ice pack. Stays pliable.

I'm new to this type of product, due to a recent back injury. but it looked, and is, great as far as it goes. 6 hours in the freezer, then you have 30 minutes of treatment, and need to refreeze for 6 hours. This renders it unusable for hot/cold/hot/could that docs recommend. MY FAULT ENTIRELY for buying it. The width of the item is perfect, the Velcro belt hold securely, but pockets with insertable, refreezeable gel packs would be an improvement.

I don’t generally leave reviews, but the struggle to find a good ice pack is real, so here it is. I bought two XL size for rotator cuff surgery. I already have a stash of other ice packs: 1 for a cervical spinal fusion surgery recovery, and 1 left over from the 1st attempt to repair rotator cuff. This one far outperforms the other 2 in terms of relief. The XL is great for a large area; I’m able to cover back, top and front of shoulder with ice pack. It does take a long time to get this pack to optimal freeze level (4+ hours), but it provides excellent relief for at least 30 minutes. There are 2 sides: one is a plush material and the other plastic. The material side is probably good for general pain, but the colder plastic side is great for intense pain.The pack is flexible and as I mentioned, allows you to bend and wrap as needed.The only downside is the strap. It is way too small. I wouldn’t be able to secure in place across body and over shoulder if needed. I had to add a long strip of Velcro to be able to do that. It would be difficult for larger people to secure around belly for use as a back ice pack. You would also need to extend strap. But, overall, I highly recommend it for durability, coverage, and cold factor.

Ordered this after a lower back issue, the material is quality and the strap works great to pull the pack close. Skin side contact area is like brushed felt and feel fine on bare skin. We shall see how long it lasts, as long as you don’t poke a hole in the bag and let the stuff seep out I imagine this will last a while

I bought this ice pack for my shoulder. I deal with pain in my shoulder, shoulder blade and collarbone. This was the perfect size to cover all those areas and the strap keeps it in place so I can walk around and do things with it on. Very flexible which was a fantastic perk because other gel ice packs I have tried do not flex until they lose a lot of their cold. Stays nice and cold for a long time. Make sure to freeze in the bag it provides, you don’t get ice build up on the pack at all then. Also read the instructions for freezing, I saw some people complain that it leaks over time and my assumption is that they didn’t read the instructions about only keeping it in the freezer for certain lengths of time depending on how cold you want it. The weight is also perfect, other ice packs I have used cause pain from just the weight of the pack but this has been perfect for me and has caused no extra pain from the pack. Only one downside is due to the way it is to make it flexible sometimes the gel shifts in a way that there is more gel in one area and it can be a little difficult to shift it back so that you have full coverage but once you get the hang of how to move the gel between the areas (recommend doing this when it isn’t cold) it is actually very easy to do and I have found that how you store it when it’s not cold will impact that as well. Laying it flat out is better than having it folded up when not in use to prevent the gel from building up in a certain section. All in all 10/10 product!

Great product. Wraps around the lower back well but you can use it on other ailing body parts. Soft and flexible but does hold the cold nicely. Well made, I’m very pleased with it.

I ordered this item as I have started a new job which involves lots of lifting and bending and my lower back was suffering. It’s so handy to be able to strap to your back and be able to get on with things . Better than a bag of peas in a t towel anyway lol . I have this permanently in the freezer for the days when I have a twinge . Also can use on shoulders and upper back too . Highly recommended

Easy to use and comfortable enough to sleep in for hours.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this for my 3 herniated discs in my lower spine. This has been amazing so far. The soft side is good for the first while as you don’t need to wrap it in anything and then you can flip it over to the other side to get an added boost of cold. I love that I can wrap this around my body so the ice pack stays in place. I placed mine in the deep freeze overnight and so far have been using it for almost an hour and it’s still nice and cold. It comes with a bag to place the ice pack in prior to putting it in the freezer. No “sweating” has happened and no leaking. Highly recommend-especially for the back.
