A Flower Lens shade that does not darken/clip the edges while in 'wide angle' position on the Nikon P900 and probably others
Nikon CoolPic P900 camera with a UV filter. If you have this camera, this is the Flower Hood for you. NO darkening of corners even when a UV or other filter is used. Screw the adapter onto the lens or filter. The hood is tough plastic and has 4 nifty spring loaded ball bearings that allow the hood to 'SNAP' onto the adapter ring with just a little force. The hood can then be rotated so the longer protrusions are directly on the top and bottom. I found a little squeeze when pulling helps the hood pull free from the adapter. The hood can be reverse mounted on the Nikon P900 to save space in the camera bag. In both hood positions the 'original Nikon' lens cap works fine and so does the supplied generic cap. I've tried several 'flower lens hoods' and this is the first one that mounted very easily and did NOT darken the picture corners when zoomed back to wide angle (24mm). This flower hood works for the Nikon P900 and probably many other cameras. The lens cloth gets tossed in the camera bag with all the other lens cloths. Seems everyone sends them now days. The Lens cap and strap are another story. The cord is longer than most which is nice. Due to my impatience I had to enlarge the tiny hole in the cap with a fork tong (any thing like a jewelers screwdriver etc.) to make threading the strap easier. You may have the patience to thread such a small opening but I don't. Enlarging that hole was very easy. The strap will 'probably' work on most camera but gave me a problem on the Nikon P900 camera. Since I use a filter the front of the lens plus the filter extends out a tad. I wanted to put the strap on that 'tad' of the filter so if I accidentally zoomed and the lens extended there would be no problem with the cap popping off. The strap fitted the filter nicely BUT the piece of plastic that molds the strap to the elastic was a bit too large to allow complete retraction of the lens. If that piece had been slightly thinner it would have been perfect for my Nikon P900. It should work fine with most non extending cameras OR just remember to remove the cap before zooming and let it dangle.I'm not done trying to find a solution and will try a THICKER UV filter (two filters would probably work) that may give enough extension so the strap will work. I'll check my camera box for other 'cap straps' for a more narrow strap or might even consider filing it down (it did 'almost' fit). The Flower Hood adapter goes inside the Hood so it does not extend the lens. There is a single bit of instructions showing how to use the hood (forward and reversed) with 8 pictures.I am overjoyed with the quality and fit of the Flower Lens Hood and will leave it on the camera. The cap strap is a specific issue in how I want to use it on a Nikon P900 and not a reflection on the quality of the strap or hood.I notice some people are not aligning the hood properly and that may cause darkening of the corners. The LARGE PETALS should be at the TOP and BOTTOM. Just grip the hood after mounting and rotate.UPDATE:Check to see if the hood blocks any part of the flash (in your picture) when using the camera's pop-up flash which will depend on your specific camera/lens/filters combination. This hood when used at wide angle on my Nikon Coolpix P900 DID block some of the light and gave a shadow at the bottom of the picture. If I zoom in just a bit it's fine but there is an issue at wide angle on my P900 and the more filters you add the worse it will get however it's very easy to just pull off the hood by hand for those shots. Guess I can't have everything. LOL

Well made replacement for lost or broken OE lens hood, especially Sigma 17-50 f2.8 EX DC HSM
A heavy duty, well designed wide angle lens hood with a nice center- pinch lens cap included.I bought this set to replace the missing lens hood from a Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC HSM lens. The original Sigma hood was very thin plastic and mounts via a bayonet ring on the lens. After a number of on/off cycles and the minor bumps of normal use, the mount tabs on the Sigma hood failed making the hood very loose and it finally fell off and was lost. Original Sigma hoods are $20-30 and poor quality. I read other reviews of this 77mm thread size Waka hood and figured I would give it a try.The Waka hood is two pieces, a 77mm lens ring which screws into the front threads of the lens and the hood with four spring loaded detent balls which grip the lens ring. You can adjust the hood so it lines up square with your camera and it STAYS PUT. On my 17-50 Sigma, the hood, while larger and deeper than the Sigma original, does not vignette at all. If it did, plastic is easily ground to contour.I highly recommend this Waka hood, especially since it comes with a good quality lens cap and a small microfiber cleaning cloth too.

Great replacement for my lost Sony RX10 IV lens hood.
It's cheap- and works great. This a two-part hood, with a ring that mounts on the lens, and the hood itself, which mounts on the ring with tiny spring-loaded ball bearings that pop into a groove in the ring. My only possible criticism is that the hood rotates easily. If you don't already know, tulip-style hood have shorter "petals" parallel to the short side of the sensor. This DOESN'T change with orientation of the camera- contrary to the advice of another reviewer. SO... Mount this with the long petals at the top and bottom when holding your camera in the "normal" way. Otherwise, you'll experience vignetting (shadows) at the edges of your frame. I like this hood. If it loosens or otherwise fails later on, I'll add to this post.

Excellent Hood for the Money and its Easily Reversable
I was very please with the quality and the ease of use of this lens hood. I bought both a 72 mm and a 58 mm. They are made of thick matte black sturdy plastic which will take a beating, but will give before my lens does. There is a threaded adapter that the hood snaps (there are small ball bearings on the hood) on to, enabling you to reverse the hood over your lens for storage. A very smart option, as usually you have to unscrew a flower hood to put your camera in its case. The adapter arrives already mounted on the hood, so as soon as you screw the assembly onto the lens, pop off the hood. then finish tightening the adapter. The adapter has female threads on the inside to take a filter, and to hold onto the supplied lens cap. The only think I found useless was the lens cap they provided, as it came with a nice band to hold the lens cap on the lens barrel when in use, but you could not get the cord through the small hole that turned 90 degrees. The lens cap its self is fine, just not to thread that retainer cord through. I tried for 30 minutes, and finally found the cord fit my other lens cap easily, so I was able to use the elastic band with cord, just not with their lens cap. Because the hood is oversize to allow reversing, I had no issues with vignetting on any of my lens.
