Great value, but solid and built to last
Was planning to purchase the Paladin die for JST-XH for my paladin crimper, but it was on back order and this was cheaper than just the Paladin die....and i really needed to get on with finishing some crimps. Was really surprised with the quality. Solid feeling, smooth operation and ratcheting that helps to hold the pin firm whilst you insert the wire and then crimps perfectly without crushing. Not much more to say really...does the job, makes the job easy and is built to last.Definitely recommend!

At last an affordable crimp tool for JST-XH2.54 and JST-XH2.0
I use Dupont male and female header pins quite a lot and the crimp tool I have works well. They are quite long and not keyed so the JST-XH2.54 can be quite useful. I would use them more but...They are tiny and the Dupont tool is too wide so I end up doing each one with a small jewellery crimper, bit of a pain if you need to do several.Despite searching for a suitable ratchet crimp tool, one wasn't available. Many that claim to be were IMO unsuitable. All that has changed with the IWiSS XH2, the main problem with other crip tools is that the jaws are too wide, these are the perfect width.I haven't used XH2.0 pins yet but if the results of the XH2.54 are anything to go by, they should be perfect too.If you haven't used a ratchet crimper and are wondering why "ratchet"?After inserting the pin, gently ratchet closed until the pin is held securely. Now you can insert the wire, once in place squeeze and the jobs done. The jaws are a tiny bit too narrow for Dupont 2.54 pins, but a 2nd crimp would do the bit that was missed, or finish with jewellery crimps which I usually have to do anyway. So if you use both types of crimps and only want one set of crimpers, these would work well.

Decent JST crimpers which are well made
ProsDecent crimping actionEasy to operateDecent gripsConsA little priceyLimited crimping optionsI needed some JST 2.0 Crimpers, and there came onto my radar. I picked them up, and after a bit of messing around I got them crimping my connectionsOverall they did a decent job and held the connector well. The finish was excellent, and the wires were all secure. These are a little pricey as they don't offer many options for different crimping bits. They do not have interchangeable teeth which is a shame, but what teeth they do have are decent.

Difficult to use with JST crimps
Bought to use with JST PH & XH crimpsThe jaws are too wide for JST crimps. It's hard to get the crimp in the right place ready to crimp without destroying the crimp. It's even harder to keep the crimp in the right place and feed the wire into the crimp. These can be used for JST crimps with a lot of difficulty. It's obvious now I have them that they are not made for JST but some other crimp, maybe Molex or Dupont but not JST

Limited range of crimps it will do, but it does those very well.
For the terminals this is designed to crimp, it is an excellent tool. Very smooth action and the dual-level dies mean the wire and sleeve get crimped properly in one action. Naturally, being a ratchet action, every crimp is formed exactly the same. The downside is that this is not the tool for very small Molex and JST crimps. A Molex Picoblade gets completely destroyed and I suspect a similarly sized JST would too. In fact, anything 1mm wide or less than 4mm from the cable end to the start of the contact will be trashed by this.
