World War II Generation Speaks II: The Things Our Fathers Saw Series, Vols. 4-6 Review: I saw my daddy in these stories. - I loved these books! My daddy was in the Big Red 1 and went in the second day at Normandy. He fought in North Africa, Italy, France , Battle of the Bulge etc. He saw it all. He died March 2nd, 2011 at the age of 89. He would have been 90 on May 26, 2011. He was a proud American and instilled that in me and my two older brothers. He went in at 18 and came out at 24. He became a man in war. Thank you for writing these books. Everyone should read them. God bless you. Review: great book - should be required reading in all high schools

Husband is engrossed
Gave this to my husband. He rarely takes time to read but it appears he can't put this down. He tells me snippets of the stories as he reads. I got the next set for him.

Accounts of real World War II experiences
My dad served in World War II and landed in Normandy on D-Day. I’ve always wanted to know what his experiences were like. This book has the account of dozens may be hundreds of veterans it made for fascinating reading, highly recommend.

One book
Love the book, but had no idea I would be receiving one book containing three volumes. I have to read in short bursts due to the heaviness of the book.

Interesting recollections. Wish it had more veterans.
Since this book combines three previously published books, there is a lot of repetition in his commentary. He was limited by the interviews he could obtain from veterans in the region around his school. Many recollections are enlightening and some lack detail and interest. Overall, a worthwhile read.

Excellent Read
You truly feel taken out into the battle fields. Scary & sickening at the same time. I also learned things about the casualties that were not released to the general public. No wonder my Father never spoke about his time in the Army during World War Two. Glad I am learning about it. : (
