Product works great. Matches the Tesla Model 3 Aero wheels. But what the hell, DupliColor??? You can't include an instruction sheet? VERY frustrating if you don't do a little reading up. There are no instructions and a couple of places you can get into trouble. Hit up YouTube and see how this product works. Main thing: Always hold it point up, fat end down when you open either end. The paint and sealer are in cups and will spill unless the pen is point up. Understand there are three caps on this and two wells of paint. The fat end is a cup of sealer. The barrel is a cup of paint which you use two ways: via an attached brush (like nail polish) and a pen tip. Here's the sequence: 1. Remove the four-legged plastic thing, which holds the pen steady inside the box it comes in. It's tight -- just nudge it all around until it comes loose. 2. There are three places you can open this. At the fat end, the sealer is in the end cap. At the narrow end, the translucent cap with the scratching tip comes off to show a pen point; and below the pen is a cap that has a brush, like nail polish. The pain is in the body so if you open this, be sure the pen tip is pointing up, or the paint will spill. 3. Tighten all the caps and shake. 4. Use the scratch tip to clean up the damaged spot. 5. Use alcohol on a rag to clean the spot, let dry. 6. Use the fine pen tip or the tapered brush to paint your spot. 7. Let dry 1/2 hour. 8. Now hold it point us and open the fat end to reveal a foam brush. Use that to paint on some clear coat. Done. Now send the company an email saying they should include some instructions.

I'll cover a few things first, the packaging is confusing. ALWAYS stand the paint with the fat end down, with the label facing you and readable, remove the top cap by unscrewing it and the brush will be facing down into the paint, unscrew the bottom to access the foam brush with the clear coat. do NOT hold the paint with the label upside down or you will spill everything when you open it. If you are repairing your Tesla Model 3 Rims, the color is spot on. To make a perfect repair, do not rush and just apply the paint to the scraped rim. . Just applying paint will look better than the scrapes, but not very good. Get fine grit sand paper and sand the surface flat first The color match will be so close you will not spot it afterwards. I sanded with two different grit sandpaper, applied gray primer, and let it dry for 24 hours before applying the first coat of paint. Let it dry a good amount of time, because the first coat of paint will tend to liquefy if you apply the second coat too soon. The paint is actually quite thick, so be aware that when you start the painting process. I didn't use the clearcoat because the color and shine are so close to the original paint since I scraped my rim after owning my new car only three days. I compiled this from my experience using it and confirming the advice given by other users. A side note, the paint has a pressure sensitive point that will apply paint by pressing the tip to the object you wish to apply the paint to. I don't recommend using it on the rims. it tends to apply thick blobs. Also, there is very little paint in the kit, so be sparing with it. The picture is the actual repaired rim, and the damage was pretty obvious. Take your time, and be patient, the repair will look great! I hope this helps,

I had lots of curb rash on my rims thanks to not knowing how the hell to drive. Sanded them down with 320 grit and used this touch up pen to quickly repaint them. Looks amazing, it's almost a perfect match for the existing rim color. I didn't use the glossy cover so not sure how that looks, I think the base paint matches just fine. Of course then I covered it all up with rim guards since I'll probably hit more curbs, but at least I'm satisfied that the rims themselves are looking good again. One tip - be careful when sanding. For example I used a 5-inch circular power sander, and while you're concentrating on the surface you're aiming at, the other end of the sandpaper might contact another part of the rim, leaving you with more painting to do. Another tip - the sanding is definitely necessary, it would look like crap if not smoothed out. I'm lazy and I thought it would be a pain, but actually only took a few minutes per wheel using the power sander. I wouldn't want to do it by hand though. UPDATE: Picture notes: - first two pictures are after pics - you can hardly see where it starts / finishes, partly because the images are small when displayed in this review, and partly because the match is so good. That's the idea. - third picture is a before pic, but it displays small in the review so unfortunately none of the damage is visible. It's there, all over the place, trust me. - last picture is an after picture, damage has been sanded / painted and then covered with a black strip of rim guard.

Works ok for the Model 3 aerowheel rims (aero covers off). I would say the color is slightly warmer, but I don’t think an exact match is possible anyways. The sponge applicator for the clear coat broke off. Do yourself a favor and get two cheap flat brushes and use those to paint the rim and apply clearcoat. If you really want a smooth finish with no brushstrokes, then use a spray paint instead. Not bad overall, it looks good from a couple feet away.

Pretty easy to use and straight forward instructions. It's a touch up paint pen, with a optional nail polish type applicator, and even a clear coat sealer! So it really is handy as a pocket on a shirt! Especially if you have an older car that has little nicks little imperfections! The color is an exact match to the rest of the car but you do have to look up your cars color code usually 2 digits mine was two letters. When using the pen tip make sure you draw on a piece of cardboard or something to make sure it comes out correct color I didn't do that and it came out darker at first but then after reshaking it and coloring it on my hand it was fine. It is a little bit thin in my opinion, for most of my nicks, but some covered rite up flush. May have to do 2-3 coats. If you put on to much you gotta wipe it off and make a mess lol. Remember less is more.
