Excellent and affordable way to fix a peeling steering wheel
My 2017 WRX had a badly peeling steering wheel that looked and felt awful. An aftermarket wheel was $500 so I decided to give this DIY wheel cover a try. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to install it and it seemed fairly straightforwards. The kit includes everything you will need - even a nifty little scissors that works well for many things after the stitching project. The cover fits snugly and the cutouts for the spokes are properly positioned. There is a little stretch to the material so one can do a little tweaking of the fit here and there. I used a good bit of the included double sided tape and made sure to tack down edges and contours. Having done it once, Iād recommend applying the tape to the steering wheel rather than the underside of the cover. Also, donāt peel off all the tape backing at once, but only sections after you have the cover already in place. That way, you donāt have to fight the cover if it sticks down in a position you donāt like.Stitching is the tedious part and it took me nearly 3 hours to install the cover for the first time. Pretty sure I could cut that time nearly in half if I had to do it again. Pull out at least 4 times the length of thread as the length to be stitched, since it will be doubled up. You are supplied with way more thread than you need so donāt be afraid to use plenty. I started with a few temporary stitches to tack down the edges at the spokes to get an idea of the fit so I could tug the cover around if needed for evenness. Once in place to my liking, I stitched everything up carefully. Try to maintain even and constant tension in the stitching process or you will end up with an uneven pattern. The edges come together neatly without need for pulling hard so just focus on making neat passes.Well, thatās all the tips I have for this job. It was rather easy, if not a bit tedious. The result is a much improved look and feel. The wheel feels thicker and more āplushā. Time will tell how well this cover weathers over the years, but as it is now, Iām very happy with it and it was a very simple and affordable fix.

Patience Required and Worth the Results
The media could not be loaded. My 2015 WRX steering wheel started to peel, like all WRX steering wheels do, so I decided I needed a cover that fit well and would be reliable while driving. This cover looks very nice and matches the interior of the car.It takes a long time to install (it took me between 3-4 hours). That said, make sure you set out a good amount of time to do this. The kit that comes with includes a needle and razor cutters, Iād recommend having a back up needle and different scissors because the ones included in the kit broke on me. I used a curved upholstery needle and needle nose pliers to get a lot of the stitching done and that picked up the pace a little.I did not remove the steering wheel and still got amazing results, I just had to sit in some odd positions to get the slack tucked and the ends of the stitches correct.Overall, I am very happy with the quality and aesthetics of the product.

Looks good, tucking slips out
Got this one because it was cheaper than the others and I just wanted to try it out. The sewing takes a while but itās fun to do once you get a rhythm going. Nice and tight fitment. The parts that you tuck in so slide out but I didnāt expect it to be perfect. Also, taking off the steering wheel to do this makes it so much easier

WAY nicer than I thought it would be...
I expected this to be an "okay" resolve to the known peeling issue that we have on the WRX/STi steering wheels. I watched some videos, removed the steering wheel and brought it inside since I knew it was going to take awhile to do (I have pretty good stitching/sewing knowledge that my Mom taught all of us boys while my Dad was at work).Let me just say this: Even though it was a PAIN in some areas, and it took hours to complete, it was well worth it. It's extremely comfortable on the hands while driving. It feels cooler in the hot days and seems like it'll feel warmer on the cold days because of the quality of the material compared to the stock stuff. It fits amazing, didn't have any problems with it whatsoever.I will say for those of you using the instructions given in the package rather than watching videos, it's not written the best. I suggest watching a couple of videos before and while you do this.Overall, I love it.

Nice steering wheel cover for 2015+ WRX
Quality: I'd say its almost feel like a real leather.Installation: Patience is the key. Took me almost 2hrs to finish stiching and tucking in the leather seams. The instruction that came with is useless. Fortunately, there are alot of YouTube videos that show you how to stich the cover correctly on to your steering wheel. Final Verdict: If you do it right, it will make your steering wheel look sexy and nice to the touch.Cons: It's hard to get the red line to center so it came out a bit slantedššāāļø

Best bang for your buck
My car suffered from the classic Subaru steering wheel leather peel, so I got this to test as a fix. I have to say it is the cheapest, but best additions to my car. Was afraid the faux leather wouldnāt have enough grip but it is even better than stock. I have a lot of sewing experience so install only took me an hour and a half, but even for a first timer, I could see it as a slight challenge but ultimately easy install.

TAKE YOUR TIME
Feels and looks great, perfect for a peeling wheel. Please take you time threading it. You dont have to, and shouldnt if you dont know what your doing, but i took my wheel of to make it easier. Stiching came out amazing that way.

Feels very good
It might take you doing it once to get nice looking stitches, but even the first try ended up being pretty good. Is recommend using 3M 77 adhesive spray rather than the double stick tape, which I didn't do, but should have
