Great spinning reel. I have it paired with a berkley Shock rod and it makes great for a catfish combo

I asked my dad what he wanted for his birthday this year, he linked me here. His review is "it was real easy to put on the rod. But I asked for a size too big I guess, so I couldn't use it on the stick I wanted. Everyone said how nice it was. It didn't catch me any fish though." Speaking as a non-fisher, I am almost vertain the reel isn't there to make sure a fish is on your line.
