Surprisingly entertaining!
I don’t normally read nonfiction. I like fun stories. This book, however, is surprisingly entertaining. She once uses the phrase “randy male” when talking about mating habits of one of the bees! I love it!

Extensive lists of pollinator-friendly plants. Wealth of practical information.
I grabbed this book on a whim off the library's "new books" shelf last summer, and have wished dozens of times that I could reference it again. I have two properties in need of additional shrubs and perennials, and this book is great for helping select species that promote pollinator health for both settings (fancy suburban and rural/lakeside). It was written by people in Canada, which fits well with my Minnesota/western Wisconsin locations. The book has lovely pictures and extensive lists of edibles, perennials, shrubs, and trees as well as a few planting plans. The lists include zone information, light requirements, and plant size. I can't remember if they include soil type or not. I just requested this for Mother's Day. If you intend to plant anything this year, I recommend giving this book a spin. It might just evangelize you a little to the cause of pollinators. Ever since reading it, I haven't been able to pick out a plant without considering how it will affect our winged allies. I am much better equipped to provide habitat for bees now, and I am just an ordinary mid-30's professional dipping my toes into landscaping for the first time over the last few years.

good reference book
This book is more of a reference book than a guide to bee-friendly planting. Maybe this is naive or overly simplistic, but I would have liked to find a simple list of bee-friendly plants for my area - nothing more, nothing less. The book does not provide this.

Let the dandelions "bee"!
Incredible photos. Lori is fun to read. Lots of tables to help with garden planning. Visuals are helpful too. There is a whole world of native bees and plants that people don't know about, and they are so much more important to our ecosystems than the domesticated honeybees everyone is worried about.

A Comprehensive and invaluable resource.
This is by far the most comprehensive volume on pollinators / plant relationships I've ever seen. I keep bees and teach community organizations about urban beekeeping and the importance of pollinators and this is in the top three of my recommended reading list.
