The Art of Titanfall

Full metal overload
The media could not be loaded. Fans of the game, mecha robots, and sci-fi art would be delighted with The Art of Titanfall. Game developer Respawn Entertainment has filled all the 192 pages of this hardcover with wonderful concept art.The artworks are a mixture, about half each, of in-game 3D models and digital art. And about half the book covers the mechas, characters, weapons, spaceships and vehicles. The latter half, about 100 pages, covers the environment art.Even though the book features 3D models as art from the game, these models are rendered really well with high resolution textures, good lighting and most importantly high poly-count models. They look great. You can still tell that they are texture-mapped, but they are not jarring or distracting.Designs are fantastic. The artworks are printed huge so most of the minute details are even visible. The mechas and spaceships look really cool. Last few pages shows some actual maquettes (small) and a full-size Titan in some workshop. There are a lot of environment art included, such as Demeter's futuristic cityscapes, devastated landscape of Fracture, exotic planets with leviathan bones everywhere, laid back tropical lagoon, and more. Again, lots of wonderful designs. As mentioned earlier, there are also 3D game graphics used here, and they do feel lacking in charm as compared to paintings. Nevertheless, all art pieces are good looking, just different in style. The Art of Titanfall is a great video game art book companion.Highly recommended.(See more pictures of the book on my blog. Beautiful book.
I got this book in the mail today and it is really nice. Overall the quality is top notch, the cover is glossy, the dust shield fits well, and all of the pages feel like your really reading something special. Im not an "Art Book" guy and the only reason I bought this was because I was a huge fan of the beta and I thought this would have some cool info on the upcoming release, and it did. It has lots of info on the Maps, Titans, and Characters from the game, not to mention beautiful artwork. So to sum it up, I bought it for a sneak peek into the game and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and craftsmanship of the book. I would highly recommend it for any fans of Titanfall.

A fantastic book, with a very wide variety of content. More than I expected.
A fantastic book, with a very wide variety of content. More than I expected. This book has so much, it was hard to get trough in one sitting. The quality of images and provided concepts is realy good. The majority of concepts are shown as 3d models, but has a decent amount of digital paintings and some sketches aswell. The biggest surprise was that half of the book is about locations. The creative team put a lot of work in level design and the story behind each one.All designs have a few lines written about them giving the best info needed. If you love futuristic scapes, mechs and guns, this is the artbook for you.

Beautiful book
This is such a fantastic game. So, when I saw the book I had to have it. It's amazing to flip through and see so much talent and beautiful artwork and the concepts of the game. These guys definitely created an amazing universe. I also like how they included little excerpts throughout the book that explain the influences and the origins that became the final product. This book is a great addition to any collection and definitely fans of the game!

Your Titan is ready.
I always thought Titanfall had a fairly strong design aesthetic, kind of like District 9. It was future tech, but realistic. Near-future, but also singularly designed, it was like real life but skewed to be cooler. This book highlights those feelings I had pretty strongly, but also brings to light some very interesting pre-production details like how the game wasn’t necessarily heading in the direction we know and love today. It’s easy to forget that Respawn was born out of the ashes of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty 4 and that the game started out heading in a more character and story centered way than was ultimately released (check out the giant monster on page 139 which I’m pretty sure is relegated to background status only in the actual game). While I don’t find looking at wire-frame models or CG renders to be that interesting, there are plenty of concept and character art to tide me over, plus insight from the creators on almost every page. A nice art book for fans and collectors to treasure.

Beautifull Book!
The quality of the information, graphics, paper, binding and front and back cover is all excellent. Overall, the book exudes very high quality. Everything, from the initial sketches to the final artwork is top notch. The background information is detailed enough to be attention getting without being boring. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to have a either a coffee table book or an addition to their library.

It Is Beauty
I received this beautiful book this weekend. I'm always a sucker for "The Art of..." books for video games and movies. I'm selective, though, and this book did not disappoint. The slip case is well done and fits the book snugly. The large, coffee table-format, book has huge pages of artwork that just can't be adequately replicated on a 10.1" tablet. The limited edition print signed by the artists came in it's own envelope. It was very hard to get the print out of the envelope so be careful not to damage it when you try to pull it out. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. My dilemma is that I also pre-ordered the Titanfall Collector's Edition which comes with a copy of the artbook, too. What to do...

it contains many excellent examples of all aspects of Titanfall
I frequently buy books of concept artwork and this one is top-notch. Hardcover, well-bound, crisply printed, and glossy, it contains many excellent examples of all aspects of Titanfall. It's light on text as I'd expect from an art book but does cover some of the background of the game's design. Overall an excellent addition to any collection of concept art.

A very nice artbook with even cooler insights on the machines designs
As much as i wanted to see more titans designs or concepts i have to admit that the art of the environments and weapons are seriously cool to see.In combination to the Titanfall2 artbook its a very nice way to see the changes in designs made from one game to the other with some cool insights from the artists.
