Works as expected. I use vacuums for weld repairs on transformers and this little block vacuum exceeded expectations!

I quickly rigged an air fitting and vacuum gauge and found 24 inches of Mercury. Good enough for my intended use. Good value for the money.

With the muffler in place it takes about 10x longer to build up a 18in -Hg vacuum. Removing the muffler GREATLY increases the vacuum power. Without the muffler, it takes about 3 minutes to vacuum a 30 Liter chamber down to 18in -Hg, but with the muffler in place, it takes about 30 minutes. With my air compressor, 19.5in -Hg is about as low as I can go with the muffler installed, with it removed, I can get the 30L chamber down to 27in -Hg. My results are with high air flow fittings on all connections with a 30 gallon portable Craftsman air compressor rated at 6.2 SCFM at 90 PSI, running at 110PSI regulated pressure with up to 175PSI tank pressure.

Device is exactly what I needed for holding vacuum on a hydraulic system while repairing a leak.
