Hatch Baby Smart Changing Pad and WiFi Scale, Ash

Our first child had trouble getting enough milk in his first week of life and ended up in the hospital with jaundice. We hired a lactation consultant to come to our home to help with the feeding and one of the first things she did was set up a scale to weigh our baby before and after a nursing session to measure how much he was ingesting. That was the first concrete confirmation we had that he was not getting enough and needed to be supplemented.We didn't want to go through that kind of uncertainty with our second child and the Hatch Baby changing pad/scale has been a fantastic way to track her growth and feeding patterns. She also ended up having problems with weight loss in her first week but our anxiety was mitigated by the fact that we knew what was going on and how to address it quickly. Mommy is also able to record her milk production trends to understand how her production tracks with baby's consumption.In addition, we used an iOS app (Baby Connect) that cost $5 to track feedings and diapers with our first child, but the Hatch Baby app is free, integrates with the scale, and has much of the same essential functionality but with a more modern interface. The recent addition of Alexa integration is an unexpected bonus and I continue to be entertained by the ability to ask Alexa to record diapers or how long it's been since the baby was fed or changed.Even if you do not want to purchase the changing pad/scale, I highly recommend the free app for parents with infants.The setup for the device was awkward but not any more so than for other similar devices and the included instructions were good enough so that we didn't run into any problems, but it's nice to see other reviews indicating that the company is responsive to support requests.

Quite possibly the best thing we have in our nursery. Our baby had problems gaining weight during her first month of life due to acid reflux and later diagnosed with a milk protein allergy. Making sure she was gaining at least an ounce of weight every day was important for us and the comfort of doing that at home was a huge relief. The added benefit of tracking exactly how much she consumes when being breastfed is a real relief factor to my wife.The other great thing about the device is the companion app. The guys at Hatch literally thought of everything you need to track for your baby. And the ability to share the app with other care givers is a huge benefit, especially when I am at the office all day.Thank you Hatch Baby for making an amazing product. I cant wait to see what else you guys add in your eco system.

Well made product with a fantastic app that is easy to use and great for the worried parent. It reminds me of something that would be an apple product, both in the quality of the product and the ease of use for the app.... there are lots of nice little touches throughout the user process. However the real story for us is the customer service. About three months after we got it we got an "error" while trying to weigh our daughter a few times one night. Within a day we got an email from hatch baby asking us if we were having problem with our unit.. When we told them that we had trouble weighing her they said that the smart changing pad had reported a leveling sensor failure back to them and that is why they were contacting us, they promised to get us taken care of ASAP. Within two days or so there was a brand new hatch baby on our front doorstep, we didn't even have to go through a return process or anything. THAT to me speaks volumes about this company and how much they care about their consumers! I will strongly recommend this changing table to anyone who is interested based not only on the quality of the product but the outstanding customer service they delivered to my family.

Got this for our newborn as we wanted to keep an eye on his growth especially his weight. It helps that it also doubles as a changing pad. I couldn't give it 5 stars because I know for the price that this product's functions are still at its beginning stage. We use this pad with Amazon's Echo and wish that there were more commands than just to log a wet/dirty/both diaper and which side baby was last nursed on. Either way, this fits the bill but I really would like for this and Echo's products to continue to improve.

Breastfeeding moms this is a MUST have. This gives you the peace of mind that your child is growing! As a breast feeding mom it hard to trust that our bodies are producing enough milk for our little ones. This SHOWS me that my daughter is gaining and all is well. I love that you could track feedings, weight, their sleep patterns, and diaper changes on the app! You could also figure out how many ounces your baby is getting in a feeding by weighing them before you nurse and then weighing them after.

I absolutely love the Hatch Baby app. It is by far the easiest, most intuitive baby app out there. When I learned Hatch Baby made the Smart Changing Pad, I knew it was a must-have. The pad and the app sync beautifully together to track feelings, diapers, sleep, growth, etc. They are both so easy to use! Even with mom brain!

We bought this a few weeks ago. I do not normally write reviews but had to let everyone know what a great product this is! We had 'trouble' with nursing, baby nursed 'too quickly' according to our pediatrician to be getting enough milk, but because we had a scale, I could see he was getting plenty and gaining weight and so could the pediatrician (without multiple weight check visits like a friend of mine had to do!). App makes it so easy to use. Worth every penny to know that all is well, I highly recommend that every new mom include this on your nursery list!

This changing pad was a lifesaver! It's the easiest way to track weight and diapers. I also use it to track how many ounces my baby is nursing, which is beyond helpful in those early and important growing days. It's also helpful to have stats about her sleeping, how much she's eating each day, etc for sharing at our pediatrician appointments. The changing pad is easy to use, the app is amazing, and the customer service was fantastic when I had questions. I highly recommend this changing pad for making your life easier with a newborn!
