Epicurean Gourmet Series Cutting Board with Juice Groove, 27-Inch by 17.5-Inch, Nutmeg/Natural

This is an outrageous price for a cutting board...after all you can buy plastic for a dollar. But I have to say this is the BEST cutting board I've ever had in my life. I am very messy, and there is nothing that doesn't come clean when I scrub this thing...red wine stains, dried egg, you name it, it scrubs off like a breeze. It's so durable, it's large and I couldn't live without it now.Full disclosure: I bought a smaller one of these first, it was less money, half as big, and after using it, I knew I had to have the big one.Excellent product.10 MONTHS LATER: I do not believe I have ever done this before...come back to a review and "refresh" it after using the product for almost a year. I bought a little bottle of oil (for seasoning iron skillets) and found that one little squirt of that oil and a papertowel keep my cutting board (which is REALLY used daily, with wine stains, stuck on foods from cooking...it sits under all my countertop "work") looking like I knew. I scrub the bejesus out of it with a brush in the sink to get it clean, and even have used cleanser powder to get out the red wine stains...so I'm taking the "finish" with me when I scrub. But one dollop of the oil and it's looking like new again. I'm telling you, this thing is worth every cent I spent. (and I can't afford to buy the best, usually.) There are some faint cut marks from chopping foods on it, but apart from that, it looks like the day I bought it. I just remember ONE other product, a gift to me frrom a friend, a very high-end plastic spatula. That spatula and this cutting board would go with me when they take me away.

This cutting board is a disappointment. Not long after purchase, I started seeing black residue in vegetables I had just chopped. The surface of the cutting board appears to not be able to withstand knife work, transferring the surface coating into the food. In no way can this make the food safe for consumption. I own another Epicurean board that I love and has withstood the test of time. It is very disappointing to me that I spent the money on this one and now have to throw it away.

I've had an epicurean board for years and I've loved it since. They are dishwasher safe, light, durable, and heat resistant. They do discolor after a lot of use, but that's the point right? Use it if you've got it. I bought this new one because of the groove to catch drippings. Same great quality as before. I did go a size bigger than I had and it's a bit to large to clean in the sink easily, but since it's dishwasher safe I never worry.

I really wanted to like these - and I purchased 4 for myself and one for a gift - but after 3 years, I now know I made a mistake:- These boards are made of a material that significantly reduces the time between necessary knife sharpenings - they make your knives dull quite quickly.- The manufacturer says they're dishwasher safe, but after 3 years mine are warped, and unsafe due to them now being convex.- These boards look nice initially, but quickly become cut/scratched and rough looking. This shouldn't be a surprise - but it's something to note since you're buying something other than a simple plastic or wood board.I am throwing mine out, and looking for something else.

I had high hopes for this board, but right out of the box, there were issues. First, it slipped around badly on our counter. Second, within a couple weeks, it had warped, so it would not lie flat. We ended up returning it.

Editing my review and lowering rating. The board warped badly. It has NEVER been put into a dishwasher as we don't use one. It is not left with water on it. It is always washed under faucet and dried with paper towel. No, I'm not going to store it vertically because I leave the cutting board on the counter 100% of the time. We use it too often to put away every time. A board should warp less when horizontal. Ever been to a building supply to see how sheets of plywood are stored? Yes, horizontally. Storing vertically will make them warp.If you have an occasional ant problem in the kitchen as we do in certain parts of the year, I advise not to buy the black version as it is very difficult to see ants on it :)Other than this, we have enjoyed this board. My first idea was to buy a really thick high-quality hardwood cutting board, but it would be very heavy and hard to clean in a normal size sink. This board is thin and light and has a large hole in one corner making it easy to handle.The board tends to slide around on the counter so we put a dish towel beneath it and it's 100% better.

Pros: The Juice groove did a good job in trapping the water and it is especially handy when slicing tomatoes or cutting defrost meat that are high juice contents. It didn't turn around on my granite counter top when I was cutting. It is easy to clean.Cons: I have been using it for light duty (like dicing garlic, slicing tomatoes...etc) for about two weeks now. However, the top layer starts to chips a little bit on the deep scratches now (See my attached pictures). It is not as hard and sturdy as it claimed and it makes me understands that it is really made of layers of card boards. There is a strong chemical odors when it first arrived. Although it was gone after two or three washes, it still left me a bad feeling on it.Overall for the price tag, I don't think it is worth. It is not really natural and it is not really sturdy. I will buy an organic hardwood cutting board next time..

Well I’ve only had it for two days, but so far it’s great. However I will add it is definitely not non-slip, we have quartz countertops and everything slides around. What I did was buy some silicone pads that are for mounting pictures and I put them on the bottom of the cutting board think I use nine in total so they were evenly spaced out and it is perfect, nonslip totally stable and awesome!

Thin, light and dishwasher safe, this is board beats any wooden board hands down in my opinion, even though it is a bit pricey. The perfect cutting board for me.

I have the worlds best Ceramic knives by kyocera and now the best cutting board to go with it without damaging my blades. This cleans easy and is super good to chop with. I use one side for raw, one side for cooked and so far so good. I even got the wax? to go with it so I can condition it when need be.

I love Epicurean products and had other product of the same series and this one was missing. If this did not came from Amazon (which I trust), I would think it was fake. The colors, black stripes were washed out and the color tone was very different from the other Epicurean products I have.I didn't bother to return it as it was an international shipping but I would otherwise do. I still give 4 stars as it's not the fault of the product bur probably rather the seller.

I was super excited to get this chopping board, then I opened the box and it has a very vivid scratch on the front. The process to return something to amazon and get your money back for the shipping costs is unclear. Pretty disappointed with AMAZON, the product itself looks amazing minus the scratch.
