Are you able to cut the center hole a to 3-4 inches for bigger bait fish?

Yes, but trap is small and larger fish could probably escape. I had to make hole smaller to stop crawfish from escaping.

How big is the opening?

Minnow entry point is 1 inch in diameter.

too small for a turtle beak. when i pull em out tomorrow i'll measure it with a tape & let you know. i recommend em for just about anything

Has the rusting issue been fixed? If not could i spraypaint it before i use it to protect it?
