You get what you pay for is the bottom line here, so I've given three stars based on value. There's not a whole lot you can say, they're small cheap compasses for kids - I handed these out for a kids compass 'class' and let them keep them. On a positive note, a kid can beat them off of a table without them breaking.The downside on these, they only point to north about 50% of the time, you need to tap the sides of them a few times to get the needle to float properly - they do after some coaxing point to north - however they are more susceptible to interference than standard larger Boy Scouts of America compass.It's a cute toy, but if you expect kids to do a basic navigation course with this, it's going to be a no go for you. The kids enjoyed playing with them and having something to take home, but this is the last compass you want if you're in the woods.BETTER IDEA: When you're teaching kids, bring a phablet or other android device and download a compass app, they're much more reliable when you find a good one - several are free. If you know ahead of time who's coming, have their parents download a good compass app prior to the class. Buy 1 good physical compass to show magnetism and do the rest with a phone. If you plan on actually going anywhere with a compass and phones aren't an option, these simply will not do either, you'll need to spend more.

These little compasses were an excellent addition to my Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes (gift boxes sent out to extremely impoverished children 100+ countries around the world). They would also be good for teaching kids about direction and camping safety, and they'd make great kids' party favors for certain themed birthday parties. 11 of the 12 pieces in my package pointed accurately north, which I found more than acceptable given the price I paid for them. They are small enough to fit easily in a pocket or glovebox, and you receive an assortment of colors. Overall I think they're awesome... I only rated four starts instead of five because they won't be extremely durable, but that is to be expected and should be perfectly acceptable to anyone buying these and knowing what they paid for them.

Unfortunately these do not work. Price and shipping was great though!

These are pretty small and seem fairly cheap. I bought them for kids at a camping out birthday party, so I wasn’t really worried about getting anything high quality. Most seem to work somewhat. One definitely didn’t work at all, but the kids were super excited to have them. The variety of fun colors is great.

Shockingly, all but one of these worked perfectly. The one that didn't work perfectly was only kind of 'sticky' - as in, the compass had a hard time turning around in the fluid. I think maybe there wasn't enough fluid in that one. They were all accurate.Keep in mind, when you receive these, that a bunch of compasses all clumped together in the bag WILL NOT look accurate, as they rely on magnetic forces to align themselves. All bunched up, they'll be inaccurate. Lay them out a few inches apart from one another and they'll reorient themselves properly. So don't just look at them in the bag and think they're not accurate, get them out and examine them apart from one another to determine their accuracy.

This would be my first Lego Technic model, unfortunately there were a couple pieces missing which is why I'm giving only 4 stars. I'm waiting on Lego to send the replacement parts which was easly done through their website, impressive. As far as the model, I love it, the assembly is slightly complicated but fun nevertheless. This will definitely not be the last Lego Technic model!!

I know they are cheap, but about 30% of the 3 bags of 12 i got failed my basic test and went into the trash,I set it on a perfectly flat surface, does it sort of kinda find north, I turn it quickly 90 degrees 4 times, does it sorta kinda find north each time....I bought these to hand out to a bunch of cub scouts on a hike to teach the very rudiments of map navigation(orient the map so north matches north) 30% failed on a perfectly flat surface. Of the remaining 70% quite a few had bubbles orfloated crooked and will be hard to use not on a perfectly flat surface...so let call it a 50% failure rate on being vauely useful...

Obviously the compasses do not work the best, but what do you expect for the price. They did the job we needed with 50 young children. The colors were attractive and the children were able to learn a little about compasses and maps. If i was in the same situation, I would by them again, but don't expect this product to be used in the woods for survival.

These arrived quickly and in good condition. I did not actually need them to work but all the ones I have tested do. The chords are well attached and the colours are vibrant.

Several in the package didn't work at all as there were air bubbles in them. The ones that did work didn't really point to the proper directions. If I tapped the edge constantly it would turn to the general direction I was standing but it wasn't very accurate. The kids couldn't get them to work which was ver disappointing.

Exactly what I expected. It’s a toy, not a serious compass. Perfect for what we needed.

Received within 2 days as promissed. Ordered for birthday loot bags. They work great. We played with them before putting them in the bags! Lol
