These are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Way more carbon than most filters. This filter element weighs almost as much as some entire air filter units because of the amount of activated carbon it contains.At least they last for 5 years, so the cost over time is very competitive with the 6 month $60 replacements found in many units.

My old filter started smelling funny so it was time to replace it. The only kind in stock was this fancier one. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. We've done some painting during the pandemic and this has helped with the fumes, as well as with the few times we burned something in the oven.

Wish they were cheaper, but I love my Austin Jr. I've had it for 7 years and this is my 3rd filter (each lasted about 3 yrs - running 24/7).
