This 4/5 wt is an amazing rod for the price. Beautifully finished and quality case. Unlike the 9 ft 3/4 wt in this series, this rod as more backbone and casts better. If you own an expensive 5 wt rod, this is an ideal back up to take along. You may like it as well as that expensive 5 wt, but realize it is medium fast not fast so may not handle big streamers or bass bugs as well or cast as far as a good fast action 5 wt, but it is smooth and accurate. Check out the Amazon price ($36) for this rod. Amazing for such a quality rod. Great trout rod for some starting and easier to learn to cast on than a fast action rod. I haven't tried the 9 ft 5/6 wt in this series so can't say what it is like, but have the 7/8 wt in this series and found it to really be a 9/10 wt rod which would make an inexpensive salt water or carp rod. Too bad they don't make a true 7/8 wt in this series. Don't miss out on this this exceptional 4/5 wt (actually 5 wt in my opinion). Tremendous value.

I took this rod to Yellowstone. It is very rugged, and action is forgiving. I have an Orvis Silver Label that is two piece, and my packing arrangement did not allow me to bring it. I barely missed it in these broad river scenarios. I tripped in a buffalo made hole next to bank and tossed the rod into rough terrain, no damage to rod! I will continue to enjoy this rugged packable rod on future trips.

I bought this rod on what reviews I read and my needs. the rod appears to be well made and is good looking. I have not fished with it yet and will not till spring as winter here has set in

Works as good as the name brands. Don't be afraid of this rod because of it's low price. The tube is not good but it's OK for the price.
