Great protection and super comfortable
I took one very nasty fall skating and landed right on my tail bone. I’d heard my instructor recommend this to another student and decided I didn’t want to bruise my bum-bum again, so I picked one up. I’m glad I did. The padding, while not hard like my wrist guards (and it would have been horrible to sit on to put on skates if it were) is thick enough to be extremely protective. I feel safe wearing it. It’s worn over your clothes, so I found picking up one size larger works. Of course, skating is great exercise and I’m going to need a smaller size soon, and I will pick up the exact same model. I love it. It’s easy to slip on over the clothes and with black pants it’s practically invisible. It’s comfortable, so much so the first two times I left the rink forgetting I was wearing it. It works great. It’s definitely worth the price.

these help me feel safe on the ice!
These shorts are one of the best inventions ever!! I wear them every time I go skating and they really do work to protect you from falls. They fit great, I forget that I'm wearing them, and are easy to slide on and off without skates on. These feel like great quality and despite some falls have no damage.

Great crash pad for figure skating!
This is a very good crash pad for figure skating! It fits my daughter well enough, with a bit of room to grow into it. She never complains of it sliding down or anything. It has padded many falls already. It is durable and cushioned well.

Great for skiing!
I am a beginner to intermediate level skier and had a couple of tailbone injuries while skiing in the past. This time I tried five butt protectors on Amazon and chose this one. Others are too long or too bulky. This one is perfect, lightweight, stretchy enough to wear on top of ski pants. It is black color and so does not show on my black pants. It is comfortable to ski with it with no constraint. Also comfortable to sit for lunch or on ski lifts. I fell once on my buttock, and this totally protected me. If you do more serious skiing and high impact movements, you may need something more robust. But for leisure skiing, it is perfect, at least for me.

Great protection
They are padded well over hips and buttocks to make skating safer. I bought a size bigger to wear over my leggings.

Not heavily padded
The sizing is spot on as it fits my teen daughter perfectly . She is 5'3, 125lbs and wears size medium. There is a good amount of stretch to these but they stay in place well. My concern as a mama is that she has already been injured prior to purchasing this so I want to do my best to shield her tail bone from more brute force however there is not a lot of padding especially in that area. The padding is firm but pretty minimal in my opinion for such a dangerous sport ( figure skating) I wish the padding was just a tad thicker. Overall I feel the cost is high for average quality. I'd expect this item to be about $25-30z

3 months of quad skating and holding up well!
I bought these shorts to wear for quad skating. I’ve been using them for about 3 months and I skate about 5 times a week. I think these are a good value for the money. The padding is dense and the shorts are made of sturdy material. I’ve experienced no stretching and they fit true to size. I’ve hand washed them and they look and feel the same as when I bought them. I feel confident that I won’t need to replace them anytime soon. They do look fairly silly, but I buy shorts that are two times larger and wear them over these to disguise them a little. However, I’m willing to put up with that to keep my tailbone safe. Plus it gives me the confidence boost to push myself to try new things as I feel well protected.

Saved my buns
I’m middle aged and started to outdoor roller skate. It’s much more difficult than indoor. I fell twice during my one mile skate and it took about an hour to accomplish. I’m so grateful I was wearing these plus all my other safety gear. They are comfortable and quality. My daughter and I both went skating together and she wore these as well and also fell twice. It’s the little stones and slight dips in the uneven surfaces that we couldn’t quite navigate. It was a learning curve.

Great for figure skaters working on doubles. I was apprehensive to wear these at first as I am an adult skater and I was more worried about esthetics than safety. After a few hard falls (and my other pair not having as much padding as I would have liked), I bought these. They are worth the money. Most kids at my club who are working on anything above an axel wear them. What I like is the leg holes are big enough to stretch over my skates when I forget to put them on or when I switch from dance to freeskate.

CRS Cross Padded Figure Skating Shorts – Ladies Crash Butt Pads for Hips Tailbone & Butt (9 Pads) Use the sizing chart because it is fairly accurate. Got a size small for my child and it fits great. We put this over top the skating leggings . Provides ample padding especially on hips... Great for kids learning axel... Which is a a difficult jump that prone to falls. Had a zipper up padding shorts before with a non figure skating brand and it doesn't have padding in the right spots like this one.. ie:hips. This is a good product

Will try out in a few days and update review after taking some impact. Purchased these for figure skating, to lessen the impact from jump falls. The size chart was a little confusing for me. I’m 5’3 145lbs and muscular. I wear 28 inch waist pants, thighs measure 41 inch and I normally wear size medium in leggings. I took a women’s large and they fit good over my leggings. Anything smaller and the thigh seam would be too tight. There is some room left in the waist, waist is very stretchy. They don’t appear to fall down but I will find out more when I skate in them. I’m sure it will vary based on what pants you wear under them. Excited to try these out! Update: very stretchy, comfortable and light. Didn’t feel like I was wearing anything extra. Cushioned my falls for the most part. Depends on your body shape and how you fall, it could go either way but I do like the padding. For reference, I’m an adult, figure skating for decades and currently doing double jumps. These are not just for beginners, I see lots of experienced elite athletes wearing these at the club, along with some beginners. Impacts add up, it’s nice to have some protection. Would love to see the padding extend down an extra inch. - fyi, the pads are not removable. - had an issue but the seller was quick to respond and address it. They were easy to deal with.
