This is a must read!
I can not describe how nervous I was to start this book. The blurb already had me feeling anxious, then I saw the words ugly cry been bandied around and there is nothing that scares me more than the words ugly cry. That’s usually the point that I put the book down and walk away. That just wasn’t an option with this one. I’ve read other books by this author so I put my heart in her hands, hoping she’d keep it safe and dived in.I’m staying away from the storyline completely. You need to experience this beautifully raw story first hand. The talent this author has continues to amaze me with each book she writes but this book really is something special. I read a lot of romance, I’m quite fond of my fictional worlds where everything is fine and rosy but every now and then you come across a book that’s real. The characters feel real. The emotions are real. The story sometimes makes you uncomfortable, makes you question what the hell you’re doing with your own life, makes you appreciate the little things that are normally ignored. This is one of those books. Its not always easy to read (I can’t even begin to imagine how much writing this book took out of the author) but it’s one of those truly unforgettable stories that will stay with you for a long time after finishing. Ms Celeste has completely blown my mind with this master piece.

Another amazing read from this author!!
This is wonderfully written with deep and expressive characters that demand all your time and attention, I never wanted to leave this story for a minute. It made me feel every word. I really admire the way B. Celeste has written this story, which is so obviously from the heart. It is real and raw.I loved how strong and determined Emery was right from the start. It was at times really painful to read about her illness which really felt hopeless at times. Kaiden is Emery's new stepbrother who I liked enormously. He's the school jock, the hero, the best buddy everyone looks up to with the girls swooning at his feet. Behind all the cockiness and sarcasm is a boy who is hurting and angry with life, but in Emery, he finds somebody he can relate to and somehow they connect in more ways than one. This story is definitely a slow burn all the way through, there were times that I wished the pace would have been a little faster but honestly, it didn't spoil my enjoyment of this book. Told in Emery's perspective until nearly the end of the book where we get Kaiden's thoughts, I just wished I could have heard more from him and what he was thinking and feeling throughout the story. They say some books swallow you heart and soul; this book is one of them. It has left a mark on my heart, made me think, bought out endless emotions and left me in awe of this remarkable author and the work she produces. I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

Raw & Heartbreaking, must read
Where do I start on this review when my head and my heart are hurting so much.Emery’s twin sister died just before she was 10 from an autoimmune disease, now at 18, Emery also has the disease. This book hit me so hard at times. I have twins and seeing their relationship together is so special. Just thinking about Emery’s pain with not having Logan there causes me so much pain.Emery lives with her Mum and Gran but there is so much sadness from her mum that’s putting a strain on their relationship and decides she needs to give her a break from seeing her, from seeing her dead sister looking back at her each day and goes stay with her dad. When she moves in with her dad, she meets her new stepbrother, who gives her a hard time to begin with but slowly they come together. I liked their relationship with each other. He was the one person she had fully on her side especially since things were tense in the relationship she had with her mother and father.Emery, what a strong character. I had so much love for her and her strength, knowing what was ahead for her, she fought her battle with courage and with peace.Kaiden, I never really bought into his bully nature, there was always something there that showed he cared, loved Emery. He was broken and in pain from the loss of his father but he let her in and he always seen her. My heart burst for him so many times with his gestures and just being there for her.Celeste wrote this book with so much realness, not shying away from the real pain and totally struck my heart. I had teary eyes 95% of the book and let’s not talk about the ending. I even welled up hours later just thinking about this book. You wrecked me and I admire you being able to write this as it would not have been easy, especially after reading your Author’s Note ❤️.This book is not an easy read, especially knowing how it will end and will tug at all your heartstrings. It’s raw, so raw and at times near the end I didn’t want to read on, knowing what was to come. I felt all the emotions.
