So glad I got the rear cam. This is a great dash cam.
I drive over 800 miles a week to travel for work, sometimes anywhere from 5 - 11 hours a day. It's currently hitting around 100+ degrees multiple days throughout the week. So this dash cam has been put through its paces. Not one instance of the devices overheating or the adhesive mounts falling off or pealing. I wish the rear dash mount was like the front one, where I could get a new adhesive mount for it if I got a new car (or just needed to change cars), though. Initially I was wary of getting the rear dash cam, as some users have posted that it's garbage quality or doesn't work. The video cord is run through an audio jack cable, like you'd use for your headphones, so honestly it's pretty good quality for using such a medium. For me, it's worked great and I absolutely love having the rear cam. It's very much worth and I'm glad I opted to get it. Quality for the main dash cam for both night and day is very, very, crisp. It's easy to mount, and dismount, the device. Do leave an inch of room so that you can wedge the device out. It hardly takes any force at all, so no worries about it being a struggle to remove it when needed. How do you view video from your computer? Well, I've read that some users have plugged in the cable via USB to their computer, selected "Mass Storage" and were able to view the video files there, but I had no such luck (tried both Mac and Windows). I eventually just ordered one of these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009D79VH4) and then used the software from Rexing's site (here: http://www.rexingusa.com/?page_id=77) to view the video playback. I'll add screenshots and video playback when I have some more spare time. Here are the issues I've had, and how all of them were easily resolved: 1) The main dash cam got stuck on a constant reboot, rebooting every 3 seconds. 2) The rear dash cam video feed went bad, giving it a grayed and broken image, like a VHS with bad tracking. 3) At one point during a 5 hour drive, the audio recording (or perhaps just playback) got stuck over the same 3-5 second loop. These problems were resolved by (in corresponding order): 1) I was using the wrong charger than the one provided. When I plugged in the one provided, the dash cam no longer had the reboot issue. This is probably because the other charger I was using provided too low an amperage. 2) Either reboot the device, or just unplug and replug in the cable. This has only happened to me twice. 3) This only occurred once, and I suspect it had something to do with the bad charger that I was using. Additional points: So, this could be coincidental, but ever since I put up the rear dash cam, I've never been tailgated. Cars have flown up behind me right on my tail, but then suddenly backed off giving me proper space. Again, I have no proof that their seeing the dash cam in the window is the reason, but it was certainly noticeable that after all the driving I've done, there is now a drought of any tailgaters. Driving is a lot more relaxing now. If you're like the many who get angry watching other drivers do stupid and dangerous things, your blood pressure may go down like mine did, now that these things are being recording in front of (and behind) you, and that any dumb actions that may lead to an accident will have evidence to the fact. While unplugging the rear dash cam cord, the display suddenly showed me the backup cam lines that you see on other cars. I can't figure out how to get those to display when I'm in reverse. I'll revisit the instruction booklet again just to be sure I didn't miss something (which is likely the case). Overall, I'm definitely happy with my purchase!

I love these cameras
I had the V1P in my last car and it lasted a long time and never missed anything. I like the front and rear on this one. The video quality is great and is fairly easy to install/hide the wires. I got a second on for my other car and a third one for my dad's car. Best ones out there

Excellent Dashcam, Excellent First Choice, slow USB
I've just installed this dashcam. So far I'm very pleased. No issues other than a configuration problem in the menu where if you set it to record with motion (Menu -> Motion Detection) then it keeps turning on recording and you can't get to the menu system. It was quite a bit of trial-n-error getting back to the menu, holding it very still so the motion would not kick in to get back to the menu to turn that feature off. Other than that, no issues. The recording is fluid and I do mean fluid. Both the front and rear cameras record flawlessly. Granted, the rear facing camera is not as good in resolution, but when it comes to just needing proof of an accident or otherwise, it's just fine. The recording is fluid though, so no choppiness to it at all. The front camera is very high res and records a very nice 170 degrees of wide-angle viewing. I downloaded the video software from Rexing and that too is nice for viewing the MOV files. Just click Open and select a group of files to view and they will all be loaded. I have this installed in a Ford F150 Super Crew Platinum. I found the rear camera lead long enough to go from the back window at the top, over to the side paneling, down behind the seatbelt track system, into the bottom door-sill, through the base of the front-rear door pillar, through the front door-sill, up the front door pillar at the dash to the ceiling, across the ceiling at the windshield under the liner and out at the rearview mirror to the camera with about 1 foot to spare. It was quite a distance and wasn't sure 18' was going to make it, but it did so easily even with a bit of a droop in the wires at the camera for a bit of slack. The power cable was the same with tons to spare so I kept the extra stuffed up in the dash behind the glovebox. The audio records nicely on both the front and rear camera files, so that's nice. I didn't have to change any camera settings at all. It was basically a plug-n-play situation and I'm happy with the results. The memory card I got was the recommended SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC UHS-I Card with Adapter, Grey/Red, Standard Packaging (SDSQUNC-032G-GN6MA) . I just formatted it in the camera and I was good to go, simple as that. Format took about 2 seconds. Once I've used it a couple weeks I'll post an update here. Hopefully all continues to go well. UPDATE: So I've been using it a few days now and overall I'm happy with it. Two issues I've found so far though. 1) when following a car, like I did today with a road-rage incident, it would not see the license plate clearly. I was within 20 feet of their bumper when I caught up to them and it was completely washed out. The video itself looks good, but clarity, maybe due to the angle of the sun (?), it was just not even readable. 2) transferring files is a nightmare. I tried to copy all of the camera card's contents, about 25gig of data and it tells me it's going to take 50 minutes to do that. I checked the speed and it's only transferring at 9mb/s. I confirmed it was plugged in to a USB 2.0 port, and I even tried on a USB 3.0 port with no luck. At USB 2.0, it should be copying as high as 30mb/s. I checked the manual and it says USB 2.0. So, what's up with that? There is no way I'm waiting an hour to copy 2-3 hours of driving time to my local machine. I guess I just have to pick and choose which files I want to move over. UPDATE #2: Camera has all kinds of problems now. 2 years later. Sometimes it won't turn on. I have to turn on power, off, on, off, on and if I'm lucky it might start up. Looking at the files I see that there are major gaps in time, like 10-15 minute gaps where files are not being written. I've formatted the SD several times with no luck on that issue. I also see at times the buttons normally light up red when the red record light flashes, but sometimes not. I think the circuit board is fried on this thing. I've just used it normally until one day when turning on my cigarette light switch it stopped turning on. I just figured it was toast but tried the on/off/on/off routine and see that sometimes it comes on. Tired of fooling with it now. Time for a different dash cam.

Installed this Rexing V1P about 3 weeks ago. The mall size and low profile of the front camera was a big draw right from seeing it in pictures. I was able to attach it high up on the windshield at the level of the rear few mirror and can hardly be seen. Much less conspicuous than a little box "dangling" from a camera holder in the middle of the windshield. Quality of the front camera is amazing. With an 170 deg angle it has great peripheral vision. Night driving recording is clear and crisp. Rear camera records in black and white and quality is not overwhelming. But it does the job. If it now stays reliable for a long time, it'll deserve 5+ stars. We'll see.
