I shoot w/ a nikon d7200 & d90, i intend to make this strap the sole strap w/ pro loops, and switch cameras when needed, will this hold the weight??

Yes, the Op/Tech will hold the weight, it's the only brand camera strap I use. I use it with my Nikon D810

How thick and wide is the connector strap? My binoculars' attachment points are 1/4" wide and 3/32" gap width.

Hi Karen, the plastic connectors are 3/8" wide and about 1/16" thick--it would be too wide for a 1/4" attachment. Please look into our Bin/Op Strap - QD (2201021) or Small Binocular Strap (2701502) which both use our mini QDs to fit tighter connection areas.Thank you,Jeanine S.Web Developer
