It was great for the first couple of weeks but after a month of heavy use it has sadly began to deteriorate.Wifi occasionally slows to a crawl, caps lock button is constantly illuminated, touch pad occasionally clicks itself and the plastic on the bottom of the screen can occasionally pop out but this is easy to reinsert.

UPDATE (weeks later): Contacted Dell who basically said update drivers etc. but this did nothing. Have also tried uninstalling various bits of Dell software, to no avail. The only way I can get a decent connection is to re-boot my router every couple of days. A total pain in the ass, and my older devices have no problems getting wireless connectivity. As I said, this is a known issue from many. Shame on DELL. BUYER BEWARE!!ORIGINAL REVIEWWish I'd done more research, but like a lot of "Amazon Choice" items, all is not what it seems. There is a known issue with Dell series 5000 laptops and poor wireless performance. This is a laptop with a decent spec, but be prepared for poor wireless connectivity and a substandard internet connection. setting up the laptop was quick and easy and getting connected to the internet went smoothly. It was only when my daughter tried to access an online game - which she can do easily on my older lower spec laptop - that I realised something was badly wrong.On this Dell laptop I am currently getting download speeds of 1 - 2 Mbps, and upload speeds of less than 1 Mbps. Running speed tests side by side with my other (much older) devices this absolutely sucks. My crappy old Lenovo is getting wireless connectivity ten times faster than this!So far I've tried following recommendations to uninstall certain apps and updating the wireless drivers but nothing seems to be working. I seriously regret this purchase and will likely return this unless Dell can come up with a solution.I will update my review should this problem be resolved.

The laptop arrived today and has exceeded my expectations.The keyboard is backlit and very quiet - the backlights time out once you stop typing for a few seconds, but come back on instantly. The screen is large and draws you in well, so is an excellent option to boost productivity. I downloaded several pieces of software as soon as I got the laptop, but it is still exceptionally fast and runs well.The only downsides are that the laptop has a glossy screen, so is not the best option for those who would like to work outside. However, the screen brightness is good and seems to be higher than my previous model (HP Pavillion) - so this could be an option to get around the issue.The other downside is that the laptop does not have a switch to cover the camera, which a lot of new laptop models seem to have.These are only minor downsides and can be worked around. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend the laptop, especially to those who need to manage large amounts of work at once.

Replaced an old 15" HP i-5 laptop so for me this thing is faster, lighter, smaller than my last. First 2 in 1 laptop I've owned and i love the tablet mode, touch screen works well and HD picture is great only thing i miss about my HP laptop is the screen brightness for "normal" use.Camera on/off shutter and Keyboard background light on/off switch (F5) was on this model I've seen on some site reviews it varies but the on/off switch is a new must for me.Battery lasting all day and quick charging.I travel a lot and needed something that will fit in my backpack but be big enough as a workstation/small tv when abroad...Bought for : size, weight, battery life, speed,Happy with purchase !
