I recently bought a sponge filter and found out that i should be using a more powerful air pump, despite being happy with one i had, i decided to do the correct thing and get something with a little more kick. the main thing i was looking for, was something affordable and QUIET. I cannot stand loud bulky pumps.The item arrived safely packaged, and came with lots of extras which is extremely useful. everything you would ever need to set up your air pump has been included with this product including air stones. This is a really nice touch in my opinion.Now the pump itself is LARGE, i got the dual outlets version and i didn't realise it was going to be bigger than my hands. All my other pumps have been teeny (about the size of a palm) but this is a big boy. Nevertheless, it promises to pack a punch and so that must be the reason. The pump has a lovely design though and id have no issue leaving it out in the open. i actually like the way it looks, But i have a cabinet for my fish tank so that is where it will live.I switched it on to test and oh boy was it loud, i panicked a little thinking it was going to be loud with tubing, but luckily - once all set up with tubing and air stones in place it became as quiet as a mouse! I was really glad to not have to worry about the loudness, I'm guessing other people leaving bad reviews must have left one outlet not connected or something because that is the only time it will make noise.I used the little plastic splitter thing to allow me to pump both outlets into one air stone and though i cannot tell if this has made the sponge filter more powerful but the air must be going somewhere right?I am really pleased with this pump, price is good, comes with everything you need, definitely more powerful than a standard pump, be sure to use both outlets if you want it to be quiet.

Brilliant little pump powerful and quiet

quite large but thats the price you pay for an air pump that is incredibly silent with its encased and double walled design. pumps out a lot of air at low noise, one thing that may hurt it in the long run is i highly doubt the diaphragm is replaceable inside but for £20 its pretty much a non issue as long as it lasts a few years.

I bought this pump to replace a more expensive name brand version seen as a standard, not impressed when one of the little output nozzles literally fell off when moving the pump. Being moulded into the body it was not an easy fix so time for a replacement. This pump is reassuringly heavy and feels well made, with a good range of flow adjustment via a nice smooth dial. It also has an LED lit on/off button, so no need to unplug or move things around if you need to change attachments. It shift plenty of air at full flow and the adjustment works well with a good range of control. The outlet nozzles are metal, yay, and that's less common with most using plastic even at a higher price. The most impressive thing bar far is the noise level; when I first turned it on I thought it was DOA until I noticed it was vibrating a bit. It is a lot quieter than the more expensive name brand it replaced and compared to the crappy budget pump I was using as a backup is basically silent. It sits on four little pointy rubber feet and the cover seems to work as advertised, if there's any other noise in the room then I have to touch it to see if it's working. We'll see how it goes over time, but so far very very happy for the price.

The media could not be loaded. This so so silent! I went through the reviews for several pumps and this one came out on top, for good reason. I'm running 2 filters with it. Its only the second day so time will tell. I have it on full whack too.I'm really impressed with itThe pump functionality seems strong the size is approx 6in long x 3in high x 3in wide. It also came with a variety of parts including 2 air stones, 2 one way valves and 2 adjustable pressure valves to adjust the flow making the installation easy

Quite possibly the best air pump I have ever owned, quirky design, quiet and powerful. Time will tell, but at the moment it's a fantastic product that's extremely well built 10/10 .

Love these! After buying 3 air pumps in 2 yrs that were all useless.. and certainly not quiet, I finally came across this pump, I love the sleek modern style, the lights .. and it runs pretty quiet! I have one on my lounge tank and it’s been running almost a year - it’s on a 3ft and have a large air stone and a 12” bubble wall running on it… still a pretty good flow. About to purchase another one for my bedroom tank.. well worth the money.
