Everything worked as it should for that model. It did translate languages. Three of us tested it for the day and although it did work, we decided to move up to the newer V4 model at about double the price and we think that will be the better choice. The new one appears to be much more capable.Update: We just received the newer Vasco V4 and it is EVERYTHING we need. It is bigger, the volume is better and easy to hear, and best of all it is much faster. Clearly a much improved CPU chip. Very pleased now.

Worked great the first 2 times I used it. The 3rd time, I had to repeat many easy translations “Where do you want to eat” ect and the 4th time it cut off and now doesn’t work. 1 month used. Terrible

Hiked Europe twice for 8 weeks at a time. This translator is a good choice. Even if learning a foriegn language it can help. 4.5

I have tried several language translators and none work out of the box except this one! Others require setup of their internal eSIM requiring a global purchase plan. I did that it shows approved but it never gets activated! Customer support non-exsistant! I tried installing my local carrier nano-SIM shows it found but will NOT access the internet for functions to work! This M3 works right out of the box! No setup or network access fees! I even tried it on my home wifi and it works! I wanted and received a unit that works away from my home wifi and this M3 meets my expectations! Even the Photo Translator works!

This translator does not require internet or cellular signal to convert the translation whereas when using your phone, it does. I have come across instances when the phone doesn't work but this has saved me from a lot of pain and agony trying to decipher the conversation or sign. Good handy little tool to have as a sidekick when traveling abroad.

The quality of the unit was excellent, felt good in your hand and it was light weight although I would have prefered it to be slightly smaller. It was easy to use although I would have liked the unit to have the ability to type a message for translation. Sadly the most important part of a translator is its ability to understand what you are saying and translate the words accurately. I previously was using Google translate on my phone and it was generally good. But the M3 translator was sadly not as efficient. The unit sometimes failed to understand the words when I was speaking very slowly and precisely. I was hugely disappointed as the reviews of the M3 where excellent.

I bought this for my dad who wanted a translator but thought a phone app would be too complicated. Not true. He was not able to figure out how to use the Vasco. Perhaps best for younger folks. We ended up getting him a translator app for his phone and he prefers that.
