A simple float arm is so much better than this fancy electronic sensor that failed for me and caused my bilge pump to run for days and run down the battery (also burned out the bilge pump). First problem I had was if the bilge is not completely dry, the sensor activates, even though the pump is unable to completely eliminate all the water. So I had to raise the sensor. But then after a couple of months it would turn on but never turn off. I have replaced it with a float switch and recommend you do the same!
