My Story
My parakeet would be happiest if he could spend his life sitting on top of my head. He tries and I say no, brushing him away. His claws dig into my scalp and he will not allow me to trim his nails. He bit the vet at the Bird Medical Center who tried and the man at the pet store. I use these perch covers to get his claws reduced and trimmed. I keep the open seam at the top of each perch so his claws hit the sanded perch cover beneath. He does not like them and chews them up but they do work to reduce his claws. I like them and am a repeat customer.

Necessary bird care
Bought to sand down my zebra finch nails. Is working fine. They are Very active birds so the covers are slipping a bit and need to be replaced often. You cannot clean them you must replace them so but more than you expect. They do sand their nails so get them. They work!

Parakeet loves to chew these up
My bird loves to chew at these and they do last better than the last brand I bought but all of them have to be replaced fairly soon . So who has a chance to clean them but they don't clean well if you get a chance to try.

Sturdy and inexpensive way to keep claws growing long
Value is great for an adjustable grit paper for perches 3/8-1/2 inch thick. Parakeet uses it as he Socrates feet and head on it. Easy to clean off and toss after it wears out. Takes about 3 months to wear it down
