what are the dimensions of the opening where the monitor would go? I have a 23" monitor and am not sure if it would fit. TIA

A 23 inch monitor will fit into this. I have a 24 inch monitor and there is plenty of space around the edges. I actually use two 24 inch monitors side by side and the edges hang out of the opening around 4 inches on each side. The only thing I want to mention is that the shelf for the monitor is actually quite high and it hurts my neck because I am constantly looking up. So I actually had to take the stands off of the monitors and buy a dock so that the bottom of the monitor sits on the shelf. Better height for me this way

How much weight can this desk hold?

I don’t know specifically but my son has his computer and all his gaming and art stuff on his side and I have all my work stuff on my side with no issues.
