This is way better than I expected. I used it to install about (40) 3/8-16 inserts. I had no problems. The mechanism to remove the pull stud, when you open the handles, is impressive. You just cycle the handles once or twice and the stud is removed. No need to rotate the tool. There are many different size inserts included with the tool. Definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic tool!!! I have had the other types of Rivnut setting tools where they use pressure into a squeeze handle. This is a better product because you can have an easier time crushing the nut into whatever application you are doing. Quality: The quality of this product is excellent. The rubber grips are strong and grippy. I like them alot. The overall construction is very well made and feels extremely durable. The quality of the different screw attachments cover a wide variety of screw sizes. The Rivnuts included in the package have also been of good quality. I have used them to install a seat pedestal in my bass boat and they have held up extremely well. Finally the case is a blow molded plastic which holds all the bits, the nuts, and the tool. Excellent. Look: The look of this product is nice. I love the design and the colors. It does stand out and honestly I like not having to look everywhere for the tool when im in the middle of having a bunch of different tools around. Size variety: The size variety is great. There are 7 different bits and with that also 7 different Rivnut sizes. Plenty of options for whatever your application may be. Ease of removal: The tool sets the nut cleanly and easily. The long screw and thick knob make unscrewing the setting tool after the crush to be incredibly easy.

Never thought I would need one of these but man these worked very well. They come with lots of common sizes of dies and rivet nuts. The long handles makes installing the rivets very easy. I had to re-read the instructions several times to fully understand how to use them but that's on me. No prior experience with this type of rivet. Good tool when you need it.

This rivnut tool works great. Easy to use, easy to set nuts that hold beautifully. I first used it to mount a wheel bracket to the back of my fiberglass kayak so I could roll rather than carry the kayak from the truck to the lake. With the rivnuts, the bracket is solid and I've kayaked every week for 2 months without an issue. Next I used it for assembling steel arbor panels. Perfect again.

Third time's a charm with the Hardell (2025 New Version). I had a project to install several 3/8"-16 rivet nuts. The tool I've had for a few years, a common older style, failed after the second nut - pulled the mandrel right out of the aluminum head. Bought another brand with a different style mandrel. By the end of the second nut it failed with a 'pop'. Another thread failure - mandrel nut this time. I've found both these failures in old reviews. No support or replacement parts. This tool was promptly returned. I then spent a lot of time searching Amazon options for rivet nut tools. Pretty much all are manufactured off shore. It's clear that of all the lever/handle style tools there are basically two designs and both seem to be weak and prone to failure on anything over a 5/16" nut. Then I came across the Hardell 14" tool advertised with "Upgraded Structure". Hmmm, okay. Overall it appears beefier with some improvements where it matters. Upon receipt I was able to install the remaining 3/8"-16 rivet nuts in my project without any trouble or breakage. So, this one's a winner in my book. User tips: Be sure that the mandrel matched "nose tip" (color coded nut) and larger "sleeve nut" are fully seated and tight (photo attached). Either can back out while making other tool adjustment. You risk tool damage if loose. And take small 'bites' in stages when pulling large nuts.
