GMB110-1040AL OE Replacement Aluminum Water Pump with Gasket

Bought this pump to replace a cast iron pump on a rebuilt 1973 AMC 360. This aluminum version cost about $4 more than an iron pump. I like aluminum because it doesn't need painting. I did notice the impeller is a half inch smaller in diameter than my original pump, but the passageways are larger, so I'm not sure what the impact on flow will be. Overall, I like it, and I think aluminum is a good value. I looked the box over very carefully to find a "Made in...." but couldn't find one, so I don't know what country it was made in.

I haven't used it yet. Rebuilding a engine haven't started it yet.

I purchased this pump for my 1980 Jeep with a 304 V8. The product was made very nicely and felt quality. The issue I found is that the heater hose attachment is not located in the exact spot that the OEM pump has and as a result the Alternator mounting bracket could not be installed without modification. If you are using this on automotive such as mine just be aware that you will need to make some adjustments for their alternator mount assembly

Fit perfectly for AMC 304 in my CJ5

Unit looks nice and is a considerable weight savings over stock cast iron BUT the bearings were bad and the unit does not flow any water.

Great piece. Good machining on the aluminum. Does not rub the harmonic balancer like the cast iron one.

One of the stud holes was drilled at an angle. Was still able to get the fan on, though, also was silver and not black. I'm not sure how the quality compares to more expensive options.
