Q: One reviewer said handles are a piece of flat metal folded over - creates open channel. Hot oil ran down and burned his hand. Anyone else have this?

Channel or not, pulling food out of hot oil and then holding it past the horizontal will make any oil run downhill and burn you. Don't blame the tongs.
