Collapsible Cooler
I was very skeptical about this product prior to purchase. I was going to Yellowstone and needed a cooler that I could pack in my luggage that wasn't made of cheap materials. This cooler was great. Very durable and made with top materials. We used this to put our lunches in while driving in the car.I also took this cooler on another trip to Costa Rica. Used it when we went on the boat and when we rented four wheelers. The fold down top and trap are features that I really like. This is not a cooler that will keep your items cold for days. This is great for day trips. It is also great for travel when you need to pack it in luggage.

Nice, space-saving, lightweight cooler for our family
The ICEMULE backpack cooler is a nice addition to our families' gear for active outdoor and traveling getaways. I do not use this directly, my wife primarily, but have benefited from that use, adding 1 or 2 drinks for me with the items she packs. It feels light to me when empty or full, and she says it is also easy to use and retains ice well, her experience has been over a day, of warm weather and traveling, though not in direct sun. What I find useful and of good design is that you can inflate the bag somewhat, not sacrificing internal storage space, and adding to the insulating properties of the bag, as well as making it somewhat buoyant. While we weren't swimming, we did happen to drop the bag in a pool by mistake and it was floating a bit, comfortably by the look of it, before we got someone to get it and the drinks out. We've had this bad since July and I will update any new findings. It has served us well during light trails near Big Sur and touring at Hearst Castle. In that time, I would easily recommend this as a simple, no-frills cooler backpack. Thanks for reading.

Works as described
I needed this to keep my medication cool while I traveled. I needed something that would stay cold for at least 16 hours so I tested it ay home for 24 hours and when I checked it, one of the ice packs still had ice in it and the bag was still cool. I got the mini size bag which ideally is still big for only a couple of vials of meds but I tested many of the medical grade insulin travel cases and none of them stayed cold long enough. Hope this helps!

Outdoor versatile cooler that also stores baby milk like a champ
I read about this in an outdoor magazine and thought it would be a great cooler with lots of variability. That is an understatement. This cooler has been worth every bit of the relatively cheap price tag and out performs "other brands." Empty, it packs flat/light/compact and once filled....it truly keeps ice for 24 hours when fulll. It will easily hold 10-12 normal cans (~8-9 16oz screw top "cans/bottles," depending on the ice level). The ice doesn't melt, it is waterproof and the drinks stay cold. The insulation (there is a valve you can inflate the insulation with more are than what is in there if you want to reduce the air inside around the ice) is soft and makes it comfortable to wear over your shoulder/back.Let me bring up the real reason it has gained so much favor in our house...baby milk storage. We have flown a lot recently and needed a way to carry multiple bottles of milk through security. Further, a few hotels didn't have a way to freeze/keep the milk cold. Enter the IceMule. Packed flat in carry-on. Once there, Ice machine to fill up and simply placed the milk in the cooler, sealed as instructed and instant refrigerator in the room. Further, it is compact enough to come through TSA (Vegas, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Austin) without issue. Still have to test the milk but that has nothing to do with the IceMule. The contents traveled without issue, never had a leak and stayed near freezing cold (cold as ice) the whole time. It is compact and didn't take up any room above in luggage (slides into those small spots easily).I know it wasn't designed for the milk storage/transport market...but I challenge anyone to find a better/easier/simpler solution to haul/store larger volumes of very important liquid. Everyone else knows did does well in the outdoor/camping/adventure market.Bravo.

Lots of positives and a few drawbacks
Generally speaking, this was a great cooler. It's the first of this type that we've purchased (all of our others are the hard, box type), and worked well for what we needed it for... a tropical vacation where we wanted the ability to bring our own drinks to the beach. Below are the pros and cons of the IceMule:PROS:- Awesome to pack in a suitcase. I was able to roll this up and place it along one side in my suitcase. This is simply not something you can do with a "regular " cooler.- Quality. While we've only used it for the one trip, it seems really well made. I expect it to last for years.- Keeps things cold. While it didn't keep things cold as long as we expected (it worked for the day, but by the next morning, all of the ice had melted and the water wasn't that cold anymore), it definitely worked for our purposes.- Design/look: Pretty easy and comfortable to carry on your shoulder.CONS:- Not a lot. I really like the cooler. I guess the only thing I was a little disappointed about was that we filled it with ice and drinks about noon one day. Ice was partially melted that evening, and totally melted by the next morning. Maybe that's the norm. I just expected some magical freezer like effect I guess ;).If you're looking for a collapsible cooler, this one is great. So much less expensive than some other brands (you know the one I'm talking about), but works well, is easy to carry and even easier to pack, and based on what I can tell in owning one for a short time, is well made.
