coolest paperweight ever!
Being a huge fan of the original Alien movie and of H.R. Giger's designs for that film, I was very excited when this was announced. While NECA has covered the Alien franchise pretty thoroughly, this is the first time (to my knowledge) that we've gotten a figure of the iconic "space jockey" in his chair and as usual for NECA, they've done a great job capturing all the detail and making this thing as film accurate as possible. The first thing you should know about it is that it is small. It's part of NECA's new "cinemachines" line and is much smaller than you might expect if you're used to collecting their 7" scale figures. As you can see from the photos, it's small enough to hold in the palm of your hand but makes a perfect paperweight, bookend or just a geeky desk decoration. The base seems to be die-cast metal and is pretty heavy but the figure itself seems to be cast out of a lighter weight resin or plastic. As far as paint and sculpt goes, it's hard to find any fault with it. There are subtle washes of black and rust color paint that really make the fine details of the sculpt pop out and make it look like the fossilized relic that it's meant to be.Overall, this is definitely a must-have for Alien fans. The only thing to be aware of when buying on Amazon is that the MSRP for this figure is $21.99. Currently, it's listed here on Amazon for $29.99, which seems a bit high, but may be lower by the time you are reading this. If not, I'd say try to find one in the wild or on the Toys R Us website where it's currently in stock for MSRP. As it stands, I'm very happy with this piece, but I might be a tad disappointed if I paid $30 for it.

Why Does My Chest Hurt?
Stardate: 2017.0517 - While on a shopping expedition to the Banana Republik star cluster our ship, the U.S.S. BroMeatEatus received a distress call from Sol 3, a pale blue planet charmingly called "Dirt" or something similar... Against the advice of our Astrogator, Mr. ScrOt, we landed on this dismal planet populated by an insane, homicidal, war-loving species ironically called "Humanity". Now we wished we were back on LV-223; at least the Xenomorphs don't disguise their true nature, unlike the Zoomans. At least Mr. ScrOt lives on - so crisply detailed and crafted with such attention to detail; a beautiful depiction of an iconic and enigmatic figure from the dark and twisted labyrinth of the Zooman imagination...

Love it! I'm a HUGE Alien fan
Love it! I'm a HUGE Alien fan, from the release of the first movie in '79, and a toy collector. That makes ma a picky eater. lol. I love this little guy. The sculpt is rich in micro details, which was a good surprise, considering the small size. I was expecting a less detailed model. It's also very screen accurate. The paint job is spot on. It feels solid in the hand, not light plastic. On and all, I'm very happy with it.

Not as big as I thought
Excellent quality. I only docked 1 star because I thought it was going to be slightly bigger

Not die cast.
Neca's first line of die cast collectibles... are mostly rubber. I love the concept, but for $30 I expected a higher quality item. It still looks good, but there is no metal here other than what feels like a tin base. A bit deceptive calling these die cast.
