Great Pillow for Neck Pain Sufferers
I have chronic neck pain and have difficulty becoming pillow-comforable when I go to bed at night. Over the years, I have tried every pillow imaginable! Finally, I found THREE pillows that are all-time keepers, and I keep all three of them on my bed EVERY night. If I can't get completely comfortable on one of them, I switch to one of the others. The travel size Chiroflow Waterbase PIllow is one of my three favorite pillows, and has been for seveal years. I did have to find my own personal comfort zone on it, though, through trying it in variety of up/down locations between my shoulders and the top of my head. It is good for back and side sleepers. It is fabulous for travel, and is easy to drain/fill ... ha ha ... AFTER THE FIRST TIME. I found it easier to fill with a small plastic bottle rather than a spouted measuring cup. My comfort level was better with 9 cups of water versus the recommended 8 cups. When I travel, I pack the small plastic bottle, along with a very small pair of pliers so as to tightly secure the water plug after filling. Anyone reading this ... who has neck problems ... might like to know about the other two pillows that I rotate between. They are: 1) Dr. Scholls Technogel Anatomic Pillow, which is good for side sleeping, but is very pricey (about $150) ... but worth it, and 2) I don't remember the EXACT name, but it is the Mediflow pillow with the depression in center where your head slightly rests back into the depession; Amazon sells it (about $40-50); it is good for back sleeping and side sleeping.

This is really great pillow for neck comfort while sleeping
Its taking a little time to get the water fill part correct but I do find I sleep better, a friend told me about it, I like the travel pillow better than the regular, its just too large for my bed and I sleep setting up and it kept sliding. Highly Recommend

Mediflow Chiroflow Travel Pillow is Just okay ...
I purchased 2 of the Mediflow Chiroflow Travel Pillows for my husband because he snores. We have special pillows we use for our own bed at home, but none we specifically take along with us when we travel to offset his snoring. Often we stay in places where there are plenty of pillow choices, and we supplement with at least 2 of our own pillows, and more if needed! We have larger versions of types of "Chiro" pillows, but they're not the brand "mediflow" or "chiroflow". They are "waterpillows" which are supposed to be for snoring/apnea/and pain, they fill the same way, have the same manner of filling with water, feel similar when filled/held, the pictures of the pillows appear to be the same except for how they're sewn to cradle the head, and/or the top layer of material. They appear to be much the same except for their size, "brand", AND our larger pillows can be comfortably slept on w/out water and you'd think you we're sleeping on a medium-soft front sleeping pillow. I purchased all of these as I understood the idea to be that as you fill the pillow with water, as the pillow fills, depending on the person, at differing levels the pillow will cradle the head in a position that inhibits snoring/neck pain - depending on the pillow. I don't know how well that's working for others, but it's not working so well for my husband. We started the first night at a "base level" of a minimal amount of water, and gradually added water - to the point where the pillow was full - we finally could add no more water. My husband has no problem falling asleep, staying asleep, or sleeping through the night. What's concerning to me is that he snores, sometimes so badly that he has apnea, and neither of us noted any difference in that. I could tell because I stay up later, and we put a monitor on him. My husband could tell tell whether or not he'd experienced periods of apnea by the way he'd feel the following day. We kept separate notes and then would compare notes. During the time he was using the Mediflow Pillows we compared notes every day just to see if there was any difference while using the pillows, and we didn't note there was any difference between the Mediflow Chiroflow Pillows and the pillows we normally use which are 1 medium soft foam rubber, and 1 memory foam. I also place 1 firm pillow behind his back to help prevent him from rolling over on his back - which would help prevent snoring, but he still manages to roll. He also places a memory foam pillow between his lower legs for comfort. My husband is very tall, not at all over weight, & other than the apnea he's very healthy. He also eats a healthy diet, drinks only water during the day, has an occasional beer or wine cooler, doesn't smoke, but has a pretty stressful management job. One of the things we both noticed about the Mediflow Chiroflow Pillows was that after the pillows had water in them for several weeks, they started smelling badly of mildew or mold, & we weren't traveling in a high humidity area. And, even before the pillows began to smell my husband and I started waking up in the mornings with headaches and stuffed up noses. We're both allergic to mildew and mold. I checked the pillows for leaks, and wasn't able to find anything, and the pillows weren't damp. I emptied the pillows, washed them, let them dry, and they seemed fine. We started again with our next trip, but after a period of time, again they began to smell. Because we're both allergic to mold and mildew, we decided it just wasn't worth waking up with headaches and stuffy noses, esp. since he wasn't seeing any benefit. For lack of effectiveness in helping with my husbands snoring, and the bad smell of the Mediflow Chiroflow travel pillows over a period of weeks I took off two stars. I left it a 3 star rating because, even tho' the pillows are listed under "Snore Relief Pillows", I'm not sure if they're actually supposed to be listed as snore relief pillows, or if they're really just for cervical neck pain, and not snore relief. I don't want to rate something 1 or 2 stars when it deserves a higher rating - perhaps a 3 - 5 for cervical neck pain relief.

It's a good, small pillow.
I got this pillow because the reviews were so positive. I've been sleeping on small throw pillows for a while because bigger pillows always give me a pain in my neck and are too hot. This is a softer pillow and seems to take away the pain in my neck, but it's heavy and harder to move when I turn over at night. The first few nights I slept on it, I woke up in a panic, afraid it was leaking. I put a protective case on in and checked it constantly. It seems fine now, but it still makes a sloshing noise sometimes. I may try the larger size down the road. I have taken it on a road trip and it works better than the hotel pillows. The plastic pouch it comes in was helpful to transport it in. Note: it does get heavy, so it's not great for use in the car.

Finally, the right pillow!
My wife has early osteoarthritis in her neck (can't remember the vertebrate number), and so she has to have her pillows at a very specific height or it majorly messes up her entire upper right shoulder and neck. It had gotten so bad that the only "pillows" she could use - right firmness, right height, etc, etc. were our decorative sofa cushions! She would use one for months at a time, and then one day, it stopped working for her. Maybe it got too compressed or who knows what. Frustrating for her, to say the least. Going to a chiropractor helped a lot, but using the appropriate pillow was the key to keeping the adjustment long term wise. Well, my wife mentioned the pillow issue to her chiropractor (why she didn't mention it sooner is beyond me!) one day, and the chiropractor said SHE uses the Chiroflow due to her own neck issues from a car accident years ago. We decided to give this a try since, well, desperate people resort to desperate measures! We bought the travel size one for my wife since she's petite (5' 1") and would like to be able to also schlep this thing when we go on trips. The directions say you can fill with just tap water, but my wife, being the germaphobe, opted to fill it with distilled water instead. haha. It took a couple of weeks for her to tweak the water level get to her desired "firmness". She has it at about a little less than 1/2 full, and boy is the thing heavy! But, she's a happy camper!

Fit nicely in my luggage as I traveled to Canada
Fit nicely in my luggage as I traveled to Canada. It is DEFINITELY travel size, but I didn't mind as it gave me the same rest I experience at home on my full size water pillow.

Eliminated Waking Up With Neck Pain For Me
I would occasionally wake up with searing neck/upper back pain from sleeping weird. This pillow has definitely allieved this issue. I have the regular size and purchased this travel size for an RV trip we recently went in this summer. Both perform beautifullly. With water, it is a little heavy, but a small price to pay for waking up pain free!

Good buy!
As my neck problem seemed to be bothering me more each day I was pleased to find this item and read the reviews with interest. Admittedly, I was concerned when I first added the water as am so used to sleeping on a virtually flat pillow as any of the nicer, more luxurious ones really give me neck ache the next morning. This new one looked as if it might be too high but after using for 2-3 weeks I can honestly say it is fine and I am pleased with it. It also seems somehow cosier than what I am used to. Glad I got the travel size one as it is big enough for my every day use - apart from the fact my pillow cases do not fit nicely of course. Be warned - I did need to remove a small amount of water due to the fact I could hear 'sloshing' but as instructed, it did solve that problem. Must say my neck has felt easier and up to now I have not woken with the stiffness I had been experiencing.
