Q: are the ear cups hard or soft? I do BJJ and am looking for a soft headgear that has sturdy cups and is durable enough to last couple of years.

Both...there is a plastic cup wrapped with soft cushion. My son wrestles year round and this headgear has lasted 3+ years. When it was time to replace his last one he couldn’t find a better headgear!

Q: Looks very similar to the snapdown model. What is the primary and/or significant differences?

Hello, This one has black straps, thicker straps, and larger ear guards compared to the snapdown. Both great headgear!

Q: Will this fit an 11 year old?

Our lower weight middle schoolers use them so I would say yes but can’t confirm without looking at the chap’s head.

Q: Would this work for a young wrestler?

It really depends on the age of the young wrestler - we usually recommend ages 10 and up get an adult headgear as they're fully adjustable. Thanks!
