Worked straight out of the box. Plugged in the giz and the TV did the rest. The trackball is the clincher. Review: Average keyboard, poor trackball - I'm writing this review on the keyboard in question and have no problems typing at an almost normal speed. Occasionally, it doesn't register a space bar hit but it's not that big of a deal. The real problem is with the trackball. It seems to be made of a slightly "sticky" plastic. This means that it doesn't roll smoothly, sticking no matter how hard you press on the ball. The most effective method is to press lightly when moving your thumb over it. This causes the trackball to rotate most of the time but sometimes it gets stuck and your thumb just glides over the stationary ball. Pressing harder on the ball simply increases the friction between the ball and its enclosure, causing it to stick even more. The only other issue I've found is that it takes an age to "wake up"/register after resuming the PC from sleep, even after the PC has been awake for a few minutes. I'm putting that down to my nettop's performance more than the keyboard although my old wireless keyboard was useable much sooner than this one after wake from sleep. There's a slight bend in the keyboard but mostly you get what you pay for - not very cheap materials but certainly not totally solid. The shortcut keys at the top all perform perfectly well, even in non-Windows Media Center programs. This is a good enough keyboard for the price and very occasional use of the trackball but if you're going to be doing any more than a few scrolls per session then look elsewhere - it'll drive you nuts! ## Features - Multi - function design: Wireless keyboard, integrated mouse and remote - 2.4GHz digital wireless technology giving an effective range up to 10m - One button to quickly launch Windows Media Centre - 16 hotkeys for controlling multimedia functions - Certified for Windows 7 full functionality ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00393P10E | | Antenna Location | Gaming, Multimedia | | Brand | Emprex | | Brand Name | Emprex | | Colour | Black | | Compatible Devices | Laptop | | Compatible devices | Laptop | | Connectivity Technology | Wireless | | Connectivity technology | Wireless | | Customer Reviews | 3.7 out of 5 stars 55 Reviews | | Enclosure Material | Plastic | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Keyboard Backlighting Color Support | Single Color | | Keyboard Description | Multimedia | | Keyboard Layout | QWERTY | | Keyboard description | Multimedia | | Manufacturer | Emprex | | Manufacturer Part Number | 9039ARF | | Model Name | 9039ARF | | Model Number | EMPREX9039ARF | | Number of Keys | 105 | | Number of Sections | 1 | | Power Source | Wired | | Product Features | Wireless | | Recommended uses for product | Gaming, Multimedia | | Series Number | 9039 | | Special feature | Wireless | | Style Name | Modern | | Switch Type | Membrane | | Theme | Home Entertainment | | Water Resistance Level | Not Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Emprex - **Compatible devices:** Laptop - **Connectivity technology:** Wireless - **Keyboard description:** Multimedia - **Recommended uses for product:** Gaming, Multimedia - **Special feature:** Wireless - **Colour:** Black - **Keyboard backlighting colour support:** Single Color - **Style:** Modern - **Material:** Plastic ## Images ![9039ARF III Wireless Media Centre Keyboard with Intergrated Mouse and Remote - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81AeDXbbZhL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ideal Keyboard for a Smart TV *by B***Y on 30 September 2012* This may be nominally a computer keyboard but it's ideal for a Smart TV.
