SprayMax Topcoat and Primer
Read the bad reviews but went for it anyways and so glad I did. Used 2K epoxy primer first and had the 2K topcoat prepped and ready to go, same brand. After 10 minute primer flash, I sprayed the topcoat. One coat primer and one coat topcoat and the results is in the pictures. Turned out more like a semi-gloss than a rat-rod satin. I tried to scrape off some paint with my finger nail and i was unsuccessful. I did de-grease with mineral spirits then krud kutter. Then I applied ospho. Let it dry for several days then applied more ospho and scrubbed with plenty of water. Then dried with micro rags and blew dry with blower to prevent flash rust. Then primed and painted. The trailer it's in after painting is like an oven during the day. *****************

Easy to get professional results. True satin look.
Very happy with results. I’ve used their 2K clear coat product in the past with great success to permanently fix yellowing headlights on my older car so I decided to give this black satin 2K a try for another car part I needed to paint satin black. Well this was just as easy to get professional results. Sprayed about 3 medium coats about 10 minutes apart (cleaned nozzle with mineral spirits after each coat just to prevent issues with splatter) onto a properly primed, prepped and clean abs plastic small auto spoiler. It came out perfect once it all dried out 24hrs later. Feels like a very durable finish. IMPORTANT: Just please make sure you use a true respirator, and not just a cheap face mask in a well ventilated area. These fumes are extremely strong so you the proper fumes filtration of a respirator and some eye goggles. Also be aware you will have black dust to clean up after if you do this if you do it in your open garage for example but it’s just dust and it’s easy to wipe clean with a damp rag or by mopping the floor. I’ll post pictures or a video of the results soon.

VERY DISSAPPOINTED IS A UNDERSTATMENT
I have experience painting, and I'll tell you this, I should have used a compressor and a traditional paint gun, to do the job right. Based on reviews, I thought this could be a good option. I'm so frustrated, to have used this product on some very expensive custom audiophile speakers! The pressurization, I'm normally used to out of a spray can seemed to be less, for starters. The tip will splatter too. I did notice, it did start to spray a little better, after the can was half empty. This is no constillation, being we all want consistant results spraying, from start to finish. I see positive reviews on here, and I've painted professionally, so this is not coming from a rookie! Although I did have some difficult angles, I was attemptinig to paint. This was the short coming, because of the lack of higher pressurization, for better dispersion in tough to reach area's. I paid a price for short cutting with the product. The speaker was not a typical box design either. Actually complex in design.

Adjustable Tip seems to help with splatter
Either I got lucky with the second can or adjusting the spray tip helped dramatically with application. The first can I used I did not make any adjustments, just used the setting as it had come. The spray pattern was very very splattery and the cans coverage was not great either. I did some research after using the can, and found the instructions on the website for rotating the cap to create a tighter spray. The second can applied beautifully and I did not even use the whole can, whereas the first can was used up before I completed on full coat (I will try to use the rest of the second can on the part of my piece that has only one coat now). I was very surprised after my negative experience yesterday with the first can, being that this paint came highly recommended, it is german engineering, and the website makes lots of epic promises, but today it seemed to perform the way it was promised. I recommend adjusting the tip if splatter is happening, perhaps these spray nozzles do not perform well when trying to create the maximum spray size.
