Returned the same day I got it, zippers are a bear...
Oh, I wanted to like this so much. I spent a few years using an STM messenger bag that I liked more than any other bag I've used, but I really got tired of the side load for the laptop, and how it was designed, since it kept ripping the rubber feet off of my Lenovo Thinkpads... But there was just an insane amount of storage inside of that bag, I could fit so much...Being the CTO of an IT consulting company, I carry a bunch of things, from USB hard drives to an external DVD drive for my tablet PC that doesn't have built in optical, to bootable CD's for various tools, my charger, power bricks, wireless portable routers, there's just a TON of stuff I carry. And when I finally gave up on how it would ruin the feet, I ended up with a backpack case that carries more than the other ones I had available here at home, but it's just not one i want to keep using.I saw this, and had hopes. That innovative strap system looked really slick - I could easily see a lot of the things I have in pockets being kept in those, better actually than having in pockets since you can see what you're looking for. And those straps actually worked well. But the zippers - oh, the zippers really ruined it. They're a pain, stick all the time, and most require two hands to open, one to pull the tab, the other hand to hold the opposite end. And the water bottle side pockets are the worst, with that curvature in them...I also don't like that the top flap doesn't overlap the edges, so if it's raining out, water can easily drip down into the inside of this. The construction was very well done though, I loved the material, it felt STURDY and had great stitching everywhere. If they ever redesign the top flap to protect from water incursion, and go with nylon teeth on the zippers, I may reconsider their lineup, but for now, I ended up setting up a return the same day I received it.

Great Messenger Bag for IT
The amount of stuff that you can organize on this bag is great! I carry a Mac and Windows laptop in the bag with both power adapters. The only thing I don't like is the way they attached the strap to the body of the bag. It tends to bunch up. It's a nitpicking thing for me, but annoying to me nonetheless.

Almost perfect
I really love how compartmentalized this bag is. It offers several ways to store your items including the integrated Grid-It panel in the front pocket. My only complaint is that the strap could be a little bit better quality. It could be a little more heavy duty and use a more padded cushion, as it digs a little bit when the bag is full.

Its almost there
I bought this back to replace my backpack laptop bag. As an adult I figured it was time to give up the backpack for something more professional but this is not quite it.Pros:The cable/small parts organizing system is fantastic.Has separate actually useful pockets on the insideStrong shoulder strap with a "pad"Cons:Zippers- some of them work but a couple of them on my bag will not fully close (luckily they are for pretty useless pockets)There is no handle for carrying without using should strapI use the bag everyday but with working zippers and a handle it would be at least 4 stars if not 5 stars..

Satisfied with minor caveats
This is a well designed bag. Lots of pockets and well thought out. I like the flaps to stop rain getting in the sides. Downsides are that the zippers aren't the smoothest and it's quite heavy, but that also means it should be durable. To me this looks like a much more expensive bag than it is, so I'm happy

A Good Bag...With One Exception
Overall, this is a good one. I'll be keeping it. However, a BIG improvement is needed on the zippers. Very balky & always requires two hands. Fix this and you will have an EXCELLENT bag, Cocoon!

like the bag a lot
like the bag a lot, the key holder was a great addition. I'm not really sure what people are complaining about with the zippers. The flap of the bag is heavy enough that I often don't even bother to use the clasps to close it, which is great.

If you can get over the zippers it's amazing.
As people have said the zippers are tough to work with. Everything else is great. I'm over the zippers. If you can't get over it, don't buy this bag.

A great day to day 'device' bag but not good for thicker laptops.
I've had this bag for almost a year now and as a day to day work bag this is a fantastic product. The materials are durable and the construction quality is really top notch. Its nice and roomy with 4 distinct compartment dividers in the main bag, a rear quick access pocket, 2 decently sized side pockets (which can easily hold a standard 500ml bottle of water), the trade mark GridIT pocket at the front and a small zip pocket on the bag flap which is remarkably roomy! (seriously you can fit your whole hand in it)Main bag compartment has 2 device dividers a key fob, card slots and 2 pen holders made from the same GridIT elastic which is a really nice touch. The GridIT pocket itself is also really roomy. I've had this thing at full capacity carrying power banks, cables, plug adaptors and not once did i fear that the elastic was going to give out or items would flop around. The rear of the bag also has a sturdy, well stitched on handle made of the same material as the rest of the bag.All that being said, unless you plan to carry an Ultrabook or a similarly thin laptop i would not recommend using this as a laptop bag. The rear padding just does not feel sufficient to protect a chunkier machine while you're in motion and the secondary compartment which has more padding is designed for tablet devices or chrome books. The shoulder strap is also woefully thin feeling and can dig in to your shoulder under heavy load with very little support being offered from the bags shoulder strap 'pad'. I ended up having to buy a 3rd party pad but, hey! at least i have a surface i can attach badges to now so it's not all bad. The strap also came with a length of extra GridIT elastic attached with VelcroI'd would be remiss if i didn't mention the bugbear that 90% of other reviews have mentioned. The Zips! They are good chunky zips but they will fight you every chance they get. While the jamming is annoying when you want to quickly re-seal the bag i found that just making sure the pocket is as flat as you can get it makes the zips glide easily so this became a non issue for me very quickly. It also only seems to affect the rear pocket.Aggressively trying to force the zip closed will lead to damage so don't try to brute force it closed.TLDR: Excellent bag, lots of pockets, not enough padding to use as a laptop bag for anything thicker than an Ultrabook, GridIT system is fantastic, shoulder strap thin, Zips hate you!

A really useful and stylish bag
I like this messenger bag a lot. It's nicely styled, has excellent zips and the trademark Grid It organiser section. It closes securely and is made from a nice heavyweight material with a wide and comfortable shoulder strap. (I have read reviews from people who have experienced quality issues with theirs but mine is too new to address those issues. So far so good.) I'll update this review if I experience any issues but so far I'm very happy with this item.

Great bag, lots of room
Great bag, lots of room, but the zips arenโt great. Theyโre usable, but they do get stuck and it can be annoying.

Smart design
A well made bag with a smart design. Love the front inner panel with all kinds of straps for holding pens, cables, business cards, etc. Lots of useful pockets and the bag just looks great.
