The brackets open up a lot larger than I anticipated, so that was a great discovery. Also very secure for recording, not for actually doing anything on the phone that requires you to manipulate the phone. Not because it will fall, but because it sways given the long neck (as I expected).

I use an external camera for web meetings. It's been a process finding the best setup where the camera gets me straight on but doesn't block my view of people on my screen.This mount lets me position the camera in the center of my laptop, down a little, not blocking the screen at all. Win.The gooseneck part is fairly rigid, but I don't expect to have to reposition it now that it's set up, except for bending it up out of the way between uses.Based on other reviews, I try not to put too much stress on the bottom mount. I hold that steady with one hand while I reposition.
