Easy to use and effective - for light purposes.
Why did you choose this product over others?: The instructions are printed on horrible, cheap paper and in a very small format but they are simple and clear. The collars and plugs both seem sturdy, the crumpet is easy to use and effective. I have my study in a return room to the back of my large house, tucked in behind a massive chimney breast which blocks WiFi, I used this to make a very long cable to join my modem and a router and it did my job admirably. If it had been better packaged and if the instructions had been just a bit less flimsy then I'd have given it five stars - for the money. If you need a professional tool then you should buy one, mind you.

Good tool
Very good push through tool set, its a handy small size so it easily fits in my pocket and it seems to be of good quality. Very helpful as well for someone like me who doesn't do this daily, there's a sticker on the side showing the correct wiring colors

Makes the job very easy!!
This made putting the connectors on a breeze! It’s a quality construction and nice to hold and use. Just out the wires in the connector in the right order (handy little colour coded guide included) push the connector into the device and squire and it crimps the connectors and trims the wires! Tested the cables after and got really good signal quality and strength. Used this to make extra long cables for my cctv. A must have tool

Easy to use and works great.
I'm not in the habit of leaving reviews, but this RJ45 plug crimp and fittings kit was just exactly what I needed for a great price. I was left with a number of RJ45 plugs to fit to cat5 and cat6 cable ends after an extension. The kit had the pass-through plugs (far better/easier than blind end ones), strain relief boots and the multi function cut and crimp tool. Could not be easier!

Good DIY not professional quality
Paid for itself replacing broken 4 plugs (snagged and broken locking tabs) on long Cat5e cables - cheaper than new quality cables. Chose this version because plugs and hoods (covers) are included. Works perfectly at crimping on Cat5 plugs, but there are no instructions and it wasn't immediately obvious how the cut? and strip? functions are supposed to work - and the blades aren't going to last long cutting copper wire! A little intelligence, care and patience is needed to use successfully. It's important that the core wires go into the correct locations on both ends (see photo) and plugs are pushed in as far into the crimper as they will go. Only enough (not much) force to close the crimper is required to make perfect crimps. The separate little (yellow plastic) stripper works a treat if used with care (to avoid nicking the core wires). An identical one I had for years has gone walkabout, I can vouch for its general usefulness. The plugs are reasonable quality as are the covers though mixed colours would have been more useful. Score: 4 plugs successfully fitted with no trouble or 'wasters'. Proper Job! It's not beautifully engineered and I wouldn't expect it to last long if used professionally, but to replace the odd plug when it or a core wire breaks, it's perfectly adequate and good value. I've no idea why the pack of cable ties is included! A more robust, bigger, storage box would actually be of useful - to all customers!

Good
It's fiddly to do this, nothing against the product it just takes practice patience and a steady hand. But I've learnt something new and and very pleased. The instructions could be bigger but I found the Amazon pictures very helpful. Does the job well

Did not work well for me.
Firstly the connector supplied are rubbish, the clamp that pushes down to hold the main cable int he connector breaks off most of the time, to be fair, I wont be using these connectors and would purchase my own quality ones anyway but most people I suspect would buy this to maybe do some cables for home and so would use the supplied connectors. The crimp tool, not that impressed, firstly it cuts the cable ok on the side cutter but the stripper did not work for me at all and I tried to adjust the blade several times. The actual crimp part works ok to crimp the connector but cables 1 and 8 don't cut off properly meaning a possible short with the ones next to them, again I adjusted the blade as far down as it would go and I see other have made the same comment, to get a good connection with no cross connections, you need it to cut clean and precise which this simply does not do for me. Gonna try to return it as I need something I can rely on, maybe need to spend a bit more cash to get a decent one.
