Ultimate Sixties Collection / Various

Many years ago I came across a copy of this in MP3 format and have been looking to get either a better quality copy or as here the original Disks. I have always been impressed with the items I have purchased from Zoverstocks and this is no exception. The box / sleeve for the 8 cd's shows its age but all the CD's are perfect and none of the cases are broken. All the recordings are by the original artists. This is 150 tracks or over 6.5 hours pure 1960's enjoyment for those that like music from that era. This Collection makes a wonderful addition to my now mounting collection of music by original artists. If you collect such music get yourself a copy whilst they have a few available. I had been looking for a copy of these disks for several years. I recommend Zoverstocks and have been satisfied with their service over many orders.

I was really disappointed when I heard the CDs of this set. On the surface this seems a pretty good selection of 60's classics. However, as other reviewer has pointed out, most of the tracks are remixes from much later and so cannot be really considered as 'sounds of the 60's'. Sadly no more than a handful of these tracks are the original recordings. The sound quality is not bad, but all of the original flavour and style has gone adrift in the new recordings. If you are not bothered about this sort of thing and you just want a trip down memory lane, then this is a fine collection at a fair price. However, if you want to hear the songs as they originally sounded, give this set a miss and try to find REAL stuff. As the above-mentioned reviewer says, luckily It cost me only some pennies....in something I will never hear again. I think it would be useful hr Amazon warns customers in advance about this kind of practices.

In the absence of any useful information including a track listing, prior to ordering, i thought i would take a chance on this cd boxset of 150 tracks on 8cds.I am glad that i only spent pennies (plus p&p) on this item, as on arrival it clearly states on the outer box that all tracks are re-recordings, which I absolutely loathe.As a child of the 50s, only the original tracks with all original artistes are acceptable to me, new, live, re-recordings are not in my world and as i have only just purchased this, it is about to go straight back to the seller.However, on the flip-side, if you don't mind albums that do not sound the same as they did back in the day, then providing that you can get a cheapo copy like i did, this could be a good buy for you as it's got some great tracks on all discs and you will probably be happy with your purchase.So, be warned!
