All I have to do is Dream
I was so glad to receive the wonderful cd with song performed by wonderful actor, writer , Richard Chamberlain..... I knew he sings but did not know that he recorded wonderful songs... great to listen to it as I am from older generation too... born in 1946 and this cd was produced in Czech Republic .... and as you notice Prague is my hometown.... wonderful city I wished many times that Richard will have some gathering with his fans.... what about a nice dance like Vienna waltz... and listen to his song??? and Sacher torte... yummy I sure would like to meet him and talk to him.... I read also his book.... and even though he is shy his live choices is his and people should not judge.... I treat people with disrespect and Richard definately is the kind of person who make people happy ... unfortunately I am heart and stroke person and for 15 years I am fighting this disease so that stop me from travel.... I did travel after the open heart surgery went to Europe many times... last time few years back as I wanted to visit Habsburg palace in Vienna, and also Berlin to see the cold war place where so many people tried to escape from communist politics... and Dresden... and also the Terezin... ... my parents andgrandparents were still born under Austria and Hungary Empire..... sorry went overboard.... please convey my than you to Richard... sincerely Marcelle

I can't stop listening to it.
I have spent 40 years in broadcasting, much of that time as an oldies disc jockey. I recently heard a cut from this CD on the radio and found it on Amazon. Since it arrived, I have been playing it over and over and over. In three weeks, I will estimate that I have heard it 50 times. It is permanently ensconced in my automobile's CD player. I can not say that of any of the more than 500 other CDs I own. Richard's calming vibrato (yes, I know that is a contradiction in terms, but in this case they fit) coupled with superb orchestration (featuring mostly strings) and a mostly female background chorus combine to make each cut special. His diction and pitch are superb. There are 28 love songs on this CD. Only four of the songs I had never heard before. This CD is special. I couldn't recommend it more highly. It's now one of my prized possessions.

Another Kildare "Groupie"
Bought this primarily for the red "Dr Kildare Sings" album which is what I sang along to during my adolescent thrall with Richard Chamberlain. And it is just as good as I remember. The 2nd album is a little less appreciated in that absent the fond memories, Dr. Kildare's voice comes across as a little less amazing.

Great nostalgic CD.
There aren't many people that remember this album of Richard Chamberlain's. I had the original album when it first came out and fell in love with it (who didn't love Richard Chamberlain back in the day!!) The first part of the CD is his first album. The second part was his second album. Not really loving the second album but it's ok. The first one brought back a lot of memories. It's amazing how I remembered all the words to the songs from almost 60 years ago!! Thanks for the memories!!

Better than a sleeping pill!
I loved Richard Chamberlain as a teenager and was excited to see this CD for sale. When it arrived I was so excited that I began listening as soon as possible. I was carried back to my teen years with "Hi-Lili, Hi Lo', 'Three Stars with Shine Tonight,' 'A Quiet Kind of Love' and 'Joy in the Morning.' It was great to be listening to Mr. Chamberlain's calm, lovely voice and so it continued. By the time I got midway through the CD I was ready to pull my hair out. I still think he has a nice comforting voice, but it never changes! I was listening while driving and finally had to stop because he was putting me to sleep! All the songs sounded the same. I can't totally regret buying this CD because of the memories it provokes, but I can't recommend it if you don't have the memories to see you through it.

SUPERB! CHAMBERLAIN HAS A VOICE!
Mr. Chamberlain is mostly remembered as great actor and people don't seem to remember his great talent as a singer. This is probably because in the 1960s anybody who showed up his face on TV or movies would try to exploit his/her name by recording an album in spite of an obvious lack of singing abilities. That was not the case with Richard Chamberlain who became a household name as TV's hunky Dr. Kildare but proved to be multitalented in the recording studio. This collection is simply marvelous and if you have never been exposed to Mr. Chamberlain's virile baritone voice you will be pleasantly surprised. Go for it!

ABOUT TIME TOO!
Richard Chamberlain was one of many actors in the 1960`s who decided to make records. Unlike most of his contemporaries he could sing. Here in the UK, all of his singles reached the charts. His biggest being "Love Me Tender". All of the tracks on this, most welcome, CD prove what a fine voice he had. His interpretations of the tracks, particularly my favourite, "Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo", are helped, no doubt, by his background as a fine actor. This CD will appeal to those who endear themselves to the likes of people like Pat Boone, for instance. One of the tracks here, "April Love", confirm that point. The one omission "A Kiss To Build A Dream On", is regrettable.Otherwise this was well worth the wait.

Richard Chamberlain sets a benchmark
Richard Chamberlain is an old fashioned singer who respects his songs, giving excellent interpretations of the lyrics whilst ...blessed be....singing in tune. The songs were choices of his era, the sixties, and not too many are in an upbeat tempo, whilst some are surely taken too slow. However, the Bacharach number, Close to You, was recorded seven years before the Carpenters made it a hit, and is very fine..There are two more good Bacharach numbers, three by Sammy Fain and four lesser known ones by Irving Berlin. These are worth the price of the CD alone, Fools Fall in Love being especially haunting. The accompaniments come from different sources but most are noteworthy. This CD may take a couple of hearings to appreciate it fully but ...just get to know it. Incidentally, there is a quite wonderful Bryan Forbes take on Cinderella called The Slipper and the Rose in which Chamberlain sings and acts alongside Gemma Craven. It has to be the refurbished Panavision copy. .Other DVDs are copies.

The best medicine for stress!
Oh, yes. What nostalgia for the days of swooning over Doctor Kildare in my youth! I had forgotten what a pleasant singing voice he has, with good diction, and a romantic choice of songs. This cd was worth waiting for, and with so many tracks it was excellent value for money. He never overstretches his light tenor voice, and sings well within his range. It is certainly easy listening at its best: as smooth and soothing as honey. I presume that the word "crooner" dates me, but, along with Perry Como, Richard Chamberlain stays in one's heart forever.

Loved him as Dr Kildare and when I discovered he ...
I have been a fan of Richard Chamberlain for years and years. Loved him as Dr Kildare and when I discovered he could sing as well I began collecting his singles and extended play records. I was dying to find a CD of Richard Chamberlain singing and my dreams were answered when I found this CD on line. Please can we have more and do let Richard know how great his voice is. Not many people know that Richard Chamberlain can sing. An excellent CD and I love all the songs.
