Q: How much does the press alone weigh, without the mug?

I put it on my kitchen scale with out the mug- it weighs 8 1/8 ounces.

Q: Does the grey colored one also come with a cup inside?

I have the blue so I don’t know

Q: Will this make esspresso?

Not familiar with the process of making espresso, but this item contains about a 20 FL Oz cup with a screen press. I typically add coffee grinds to the bottom, fill with hot water, then steep 5-15 minutes, then press the screen to the bottom to seal the coffee grinds at bottom so you can pour your joe. I doubt espresso is intended to be made in this product.
