This ax was machined (shaped) for splitting wood ... it seems to be ideal for this.
The ax is well-balanced. The handle appears to be really strong and stiff, yet with enough spring in its design to take care of one's elbow while using it. The head of the ax is machined (shaped) for splitting wood ... since I use an ax for a multi-purpose tool, I will have to reshape the head for cutting as well, but it seems to be tempered well enough for me to make this change without difficulty. I think this is a good ax.

GREAT size.
Great size. 24” handle is really handy. I use it on medium to small splitting. Choke up on the handle for super smalls. Enough leverage to get down on my bad self when the problem log arises. Actually all that was just theoretical. Never swung this beauty. We’re a camping family. Got it for my youngest boy to throw in his cramper. I’m sure when he gets to use it he will tell you the same. It’s easy to spot a good tool. Thanks.

Super Axe/Easy to see
This is my second Tabor Axe. They are great and for those who complain they are not sharpened to their liking: You all need to sharpen the Axe as use will require so!! I use a my belt sander. My better half loves these and this one is Her 4x. I prefer the Eastwing Axes for the snow mobiles and My use but these are great - only a user preference and camping I am glad to have the Tabor in Our tack.

A few white pressure marks on the fiberglass on arrival, the axe head had had a few notches and divets from its casting and an odd adhesive on it left it feeling unpolished. Other then seemingly surface level stuff it's counterweighted nicely, the materials are light and the grip is... grippy?
