I've been a baklava afficionado in the US for many years. I usually get mine from a little deli run by a nice old Greek man. I've been going there for years and never thought I'd ever find baklava that comes close to his. I can no longer say that. The Gulluoglu Shaabiyat is absolutely superb. It's prepared a little differently from what I've been getting locally in the US but that's ok. Different can be a good thing! This baklava is incredibly tasty and sweet without being overpoweringly sweet. It's got some pistachio in it without going overboard with them. The individual sizes are perfect for an after dinner treat. I recommend this brand to anyone who would like to try authentic Turkish baklava!

I ordered "Sobiyet" but I received a pile of nasty, very unpleasant oily tasting stuff. I have been in Turkiye, So I know, how Sobiyet baklava looks and tastes like. This was total disaster and going straight to garbage, not recommended.

After trying many products from The Amazon International Bazaar (with some disappointments), this is A FIVE STAR WINNER. Bought an assortment of items and despite the long trip each item arrived pristine. Shipped very fast. My order was prepared in Turkey on Monday and we are eating it for lunch on Thursday in Vancouver. I think the wedge-shaped Baklava is my favourite, but so hard to decide as each variety is so delicious. Due to body aftershock from chemicals in other products, we find this Baklava to be authentic tasting, reminiscent of 'old memories', and especially it is chemical free. This will be our 'go to' company from now on for our eating and as gifts for favourite friends. TY TY TY great bakers.
