I don't think so -- of course I haven't tried. I don't think I will try. If you want to use this on the stove top without the heating element, why buy this pot? Why not just buy a regular pot for stove use. Because if you want to reheat the food inside, you just plug it in the power source and heat it -- same like cooking on stove top.
