Racing Sports AK/SKS Shell Deflector, Black

Getting two of these of different brands, one was to grind on and test fit; the other was to use what was learned using the first one that was a practice mount. But the thing is the height of the scope atop the SKS scope mount needs to be high enough to allow the use of this type of deflector. My scope sat too low to be able to use this deflector at this time. The scope needs to sit like it would in a set of medium to high scope mount rings you would see on a conventional bolt action rifle - to allow enough clearance between the bottom of the scope and the rifle barrel, to use this. Tricking out an SKS, taking this into account as part of the build would be the thing. I had hoped to be able to make this work on a Vietnam era SKS that was otherwise pretty much perfect. I will make the necessary modifications to make this work, later on. There seems to be no other option available to use as a shell deflector on an SKS, and a shell deflector is a critical need on an SKS with a larger scope.
