Can this withstand being dropped (multiple times, from shoulder height)

If filled with sand the outward pressure of a repeated drop will eventually blow a seam.

My bags leaks a little through the top opening when used as a kettlebell, just from movement. Any suggestions on getting the best seal?

Hi Roger,Thanks very much for your feedback and your question. If I understand correctly, you're finding that some water leaks out through the top of the bag while you're using it as a kettle bell. Please accept our apologies on that one - I really hope you haven't got too wet! There's a few thing we can suggest I hope they'll be useful. Firstly though, we are aware that when using a maximum volume of water, with kettle bell swings at speed to head hight that this can happen - and we working at the moment to improve the design for a new drybell. As a valued customer we'd be happy to include you as part of the beta test group if you're interested to give it a go when it's available. So suggestions for reducing any leakage: 1. The more folds you can get before closing the bag the better. So having filled to the desired volume try and get as much air out of the rest of the top of the bag as possible. This means you'll be able to roll the top down more times to get a better seal. 2. Reduce the volume of water you're using - again this will get a tighter seal as you'll be able to get more folds in the top. 3. Slow down each repetition. If you're using smaller volume (or a lighter weight of any conventional dumbbell or kettlebell) slowing the movement right down will actually give you a better workout while using less weight. We all love pounding through reps - for one thing we can lift more weight that way so feel stronger. However slowing the movement right down to four seconds on the lift, one second hold at the top of the movement, and four seconds back down, is (counterintuitively) a far quicker way of building muscle or getting lean. Try a few of your regular exercises like this and you'll see that you get tired much quicker (and can do less reps than you're used to) but give it a couple of weeks and you'll see the results are far better than when you're just hammering away through each exercise as quick as you can! When you're using the Drybell this has the advantage that the bag hangs down the whole time so is less likely to spill. 4. Use sand. We know this isn't always practical but a lot of folks use the drybell as a permanent weight or on the beach and sand is ultimately the best thing to fill it with 5. Use a disposable garbage bag as an inner. If you're still having problems despite everything above put a large garbage bag inside you're drybell as a liner. Fill the whole thing up to the desired volume (white bags work better so you can still see the volume graduation markers through the bag) and expel as much air as you can from the garbage bag before tying a knot in it. Tuck the excess plastic bag down and then seal the drybell in the normal way. This should stop that leakage of water through the top. Doing this has the advantage that you don't need to dry your bag out between uses, just empty the garbage sac and throw it away. I hope one of these (or a combination) works for you. How much weight can this hold? Could I use coins or buckshot?

Hey man! Awesome question! We've comfortably tested them to 37.5lbs with sand in. I'm pretty sure they'll stand a fair bit more than that! We've never filled them with buckshot but that would definitely make it a big ol' heavy bag!! I'm going to see if I can private message you and send a couple out that you could test to destruction - would be useful for us to know!!

Can this be used for kettlebell swings?
