I ordered this so that I could make a stencil on my Cricut for a friend to use to add designs to her handmade mugs. I did a lot of research before deciding on these sheets and I'm so happy I did. Based on other reviews, I used the mylar setting (set the machine to custom and then in the software, right before it cuts, click to see all material types and just search for mylar). The sheet stuck really nicely to my freshly cleaned green mat and the Cricut automatically did two passes over the whole cut. I flipped the mat over and peeled it off of the sheet, rather than pulling the sheet off the mat, to prevent it from curling. Most of the cutouts either stayed stuck to the mat or fell right out of the sheet and I barely had to press anything out manually. My friend was so happy with the result and plans to use the stencil within the next week am I'm really excited to see how her mugs come out!! This stencil material offers excellent value, you get a generous number of sheets for the price. I used the 4mil thickness with my Cricut Explore, and it cut cleanly and easily using the default Mylar setting. If your machine can handle it, I’d recommend going with a thicker sheet. I’ve read that setting the Cricut to cut twice can help with thicker materials. A thicker stencil will allow more icing to be deposited during use, which I hadn’t considered at first—but it makes perfect sense in hindsight. The stencil thickness directly affects how much icing is applied, so keep that in mind depending on your project needs. Overall, a great buy for cookie stenciling or other craft projects!
