It works!
Purchased this a while ago for my husband's auto shop and decided to review it today because now we know it works!He was doing a first start-up of a drag car and the exhaust comes out the top of the hood, not the back. We had fans on but because of the exhaust location the fumes weren't being fanned out as efficiently. The CO alarm went off from it so we opened the bay doors and went outside until it stopped beeping. Glad we got this!

This device is without backup. Against the law to sell.
I had fireman come to my home. He told me he can't believe that amazon is selling this device carbon monoxide without backup. He gave me 3 new ones with battery backup. Good for 1O years. Carbon monoxide devices without backup is against the law to sell.

Ce modèle n'a pas besoin de batteries mais c'est pas clair.
Je suis incapable d'ouvrir l'appareil pour mettre la batterie. J'ai eu beau lire les instructions je n'ai pas trouvé. Je les ai installées sans batteries. Un gentil M. m'a dit que ce modèle n'a pas besoin de batteries mais les clients achètent des batteries quand même. La description devrait être plus précise car on pense que l'appareil en a besoin comme tous les autres appareils vendus dans cette catégorie.

Good quality for the price.
This is my second detector of same brand. The first one lasted for 8 years. I just got this recently so based on the previous one, I would assumed that quality wise it is the same. Hence I’m rating it 4 star. Price is cheaper than most brand too.

Plug it in & forget it.
Our old furnace packed it in & it was leaking fumes into our home, for peace of mind we got the first alert. It came well packed & it appears to be working great. I sleep better at nights knowing it working 24\7
