8500 Great reel, Smooth Drag
This reel was recommended to me by a friend. I bought my first to use sturgeon fishing and quickly ordered a second. I have landed several dozen sturgeon using 100# powerpro braid, many 7 feet long and up to 8 feet long weighing up to 280 pounds. The drag is extremely smooth and the reel is very durable. A sturgeon stole one yesterday off my boat when the rod holder broke. I ordered a replacement this morning. This is a fantastic reel when matched with a Ugly-stick MH tiger spinning rod.

This is a better than advertised reel.I can't wait to put it to work in the ocean.pulls up everything in the bay with ease.

I am impressed with this product. Although I have not used it yet, it appears well built and durable. I can't wait to get offshore and test it.

Broken out of the box
The reel was broken out of the box, the spool did not go up and down which caused the line to spoil up in one place and would cause knots, usually fin nor is a good brand but I seemed to have gotten a bad reel from Amazon.
